What effort? Hardly practising and asa TWL starts steal some players and participate in TWL?
I do believe -f- should be in TWL thats not the point, but I think there is something wrong with the system. Maybe we shouldnt use TWD games anymore as qualification, but some pre-tournament, with playoffs, because the point system does not bring positive outcomes.

What a lot people seem to forget is, TWL isn't some 'diplomatic' tourny where any squad who's 'active' is eligible to join. It's supposed to be a tourny to establish the top squads, and not something any squad (who's primary self-description is, 'active and willing') should be entered into.

However, as the current system stands, good squads aren't being allowed in - in my honest opinion. This is because whilst there's been a positive change to the roster sizes, there has been no account taken of the knock on effects and no post-policy decisions made about this very matter. We can't just have 4 new squads entering into one league - reduce auto-qualifiers to finals, or semifinals at the very least.

Keep the current system. I prefer longevity (especially when squads proof they're still competitive) over letting in a lot of squads that will fall apart when they start losing a few games because they've no history/loyalty whatever..

Although I agree TWL staff should pay more attention to the average rating.. Maybe hold a tourny for the last 2 spots between 4 squads, w/e. Also I could agree with Fit's suggestion..

Bram, if lesser squads are being let in automatically, that doesn't mean longevity is gone. It just means that squads like for example disoblige would have to just qualify instead of already being in. Doesn't mean you get a lot of new squads in per se, that only happens if the older squads don't qualify when they are not given their auto spot.

Say this twl, 4 open spots for lb right? 12 squads in, lesser auto qualified spots doesn't mean that there are a suddenly 6 different squads entering from the 12 that qualified now, it just means that of the 12 that qualified now more then 4 squads would have to work for their qualify.

Like I said before, if only 12 squads per league you should only give 4 squads auto qualify, if 16 squads per league, you can easily let 8 squads back in on auto qualify.

II. Trench Wars League Structure

Rule 2.03

In order for a TWD Squad to qualify for TWL consideration, that Squad must meet all Trench Wars Leagues requirements. In addition, the Squad must have played a minimum of 15 matches in the specific division (Basing, Dueling, Javelins) they are attempting to qualify for. Squads that have not met the minimum 15 games played requirement will not be considered for Trench Wars Leagues qualification.

Should this not apply? I can name at least one TWLB squad that has not played 15 TWBD games.

Edit: Apparently it does not. Well, I think it should.

the rule above it states "2.02 All playoff Squads that participated in the previous Trench Wars Leagues season playoffs will be granted automatic admission to play in this season.."

it doesn't apply to squads from twl playoffs last year, just those that are trying to qualify. the wording is pretty bad

As do I. Being AFK in off season and recruiting a few basers from squads to make sure you can play a line in TWL is not doing anything to help promote activity in Trench Wars.

The number of auto-invited squads should probably depend on how many squads there are in the league. However, with 12 squads per league, no more than the semi-finalists should be invited.

to be honest, i prefer longevity over activity. have seen too many so called active and supposedly good squad lose a few matches in TWL then just dissolve.

and i actually want to cut down the auto-invite to finalists only. Which basically cut off all the so-so squads that made the playoffs.

I'm having a hard time find any so-so squads from the semi's of any season Neth... just playing Devil's Advocate here, because I actually voted on the finalists as well.

I have no problem with eveyr playoff squad getting auto-invite, its been a bonus for those squads for many seasons now. I think if u put the finalists thats not giving enough squads, and now that we lowered the league #, all mite be to much, semis are rite in the middle

didn't everyone think grapevine was the greatest thing ever last year? how long did they last? no one thought they would dissolve, it's much more secure this way.
