    • If I read this it's rather Mouse who is doing crazy shit and not Eelam, right? Why not exclude Mouse from TWL?

There should be a rule that protects players from being banned over no reason during TWL, esspecially after soft lock and esspecially when going to playoffs. Captains got too much power now I guess. Sure you can join a squad with only respectable people on it, but still, shit can happen.

      • If they sent an email within 24 hours Eelam should be re-added to the TWL roster. I don't believe the fact that Mouse did it by accident, but that's not really relevant when he contacted staff to resubmit the player within 24 hours.

          1) hard lock does apply to eelam. when he got axed, his status went from 'Rostered on Pandora' to 'Squadless'.

          2) It's true that no one knows whether the story is true or not, however, dont be shocked, people on subspace have brains.

          a) it takes 3 steps to axe a captain. 1. demote cap -> asscap, 2. demote asscap -> player, 3. axe player. each step would require a refreshed web page.

          b) as a captain, you have the responsiblity of NOT fooling around and act like an idiot. how is axing someone because of an argument accidental? "he doesnt know that there is no longer a pop up asking 'are you sure'" DOESNT WORK. its not like the 2 of you are sharing a computer and you can show 'IM THE MAN, I CAN AXE YOU'.. mouse has the intention of axing eelam when he clicked the Axe button. Like wat i said before, there is a huge difference between 'i clicked the wrong name' and 'i know who i clicked'.

          c) after mouse axed eelam, the entire squad asked twl ops about whether they can create a new squad WITHOUT mouse, and still play TWL. Looks to us like the pandora crew is just trying to overrule mouse, but seeing how hes the squadowner, the only way to 'axe' him is to create a new squad without him. so to us, then there is no way a accidental axe of eelam. If anything, mouse means it.

          d) there is a big differene between 'a mistake' and 'an accident' (this one is for sumpson)

PS - keep what you post on topic. i dont want to see any shit talk or just stupid comments. if you have points to suggest, argue, go ahead. but no trash talks, or i will close this thread as well.

Still in the case where a squadcaptain wants to ditch someone but changes his mind within 24 hours and the player hasnt joined a different squad, I don't see why TWL ops should act stubborn and leave the player out of TWL.
It's not like we are dealing with adults here. Its just a game, whats the big deal to give someone a second chance? There is enough space in the rule to give him that possibility. You don't HAVE TO deny the appeal.

          • I have to admit, the argument that players should be protected by unstable captains is a good one.

Looks like Eelam got screwed over by Mouse, and the rules gives the captains the chance to abuse their positions.

The problem here is that if TWL staff lets Eelam back on, they will show that the rules can be bent on judgement calls from staff.

We all know that this community is not mature enough to not whine about the judgement calls from staff, so we have to keep strict rules.

Not if Pandora sent an email to TWL Staff within 24 hours.

Yeah, that applies if they accidently kicked a member, not having a captain in a fit of ego rage.

Even tho the rule might not be that good in itself, staff stll needs to enforce it to show that they will not slack on sticking to the rules. If they leave just a tiny loophole or uncertainty open for the assholes to exploit it will leave to more shit and drama than this.

Edit: Sure shit happens, but instead of doing mid season changes and judgement calls, change it and set it in stone for next season.

That's why staff should have granted the resubmit, instead of being subjective towards hearsay. There should be no legal difference between axing a player in anger -and then undoing it when you cooled down-, and stupidly hitting the wrong button on the site.
You can argue the difference, but there really is no difference. Whoever wrote the rules was reasonable enough to forgive these errors. The one enforcing the rules shouldn't interpret them differently.
It would save a lot of time and trouble if the moderator had been objective to this matter, rather than acting on what he heard about what went on in Pandora's ranks.
As matter of fact I think it's rather ridiculous that a captain would have to give any reason for resubmitting a player to the league-roster within 24 hours.

At least in the Dutch law, you can send a letter -in anger- and then send another -within a certain timeframe (I believe sending the letter before the first one is recieved)- telling the recipient to ignore the first letter, and the first letter will have no legal value. In this case you could expect other players to attach value to the first letter, but the TWL ops should act a little more professional than the average player, and only take the rules into consideration.

                      • For God's sake, just modify the rule and resolve the issue. If a player is axed after the hard lock, by any means, he should be out. Period. No second chance. Why have a rule that supports stupidity and immaturity? "Oh, hey, doh. We accidently pressed buttons when we shouldn't have." Having this rule only puts staff/league officials in a position of making judgments that can be perceived as biased or unfair.
After playing since 1998, I have never seen anyone accidently be removed from a roster. But what I have seen is people get emotional, leave or get axed, have things calm down, then have regrets. Grow up, learn to choose your squad carefully, take responsibility for your actions.

                        Make it black/white, no grey.

                        • confused..

I have nothing against Pandora.. but, why to have a captain like Mouse leading a squad? He is way too emotional and childish to lead a squad anyways. :fear:

Ofcourse 'accidents' like this will happen if he is leading the squad. He'll continue axing random people of your roster (his temper and ego = massacre). But, if you demote him - he will just ?squaddissolve and it's end of the story!

That would have been the best. But current rules state the opposite. And everyone accepted these rules when they were put down.

Only because they didn't enforce the rule as they should have.

Maybe we should remove the rule, but I don't see the problem, you get 24 hours to be resubmit to a roster you left -no matter what the reason is.
It's reasonable to have a buffer for unforeseen eventualities.

Your country supports drugs, sweet sweet drugs. Offcourse they have rules that lets those who fuck up too bad while wasted off the hook

I agree with some of your points tho, this could have been handled better, but I believe in being adamant about rules is important with so many assholes around.
