If a squad can remain inactive and play few TWD games and still make it to semi's or final's based on the current competition what sense does it make to tell them "sorry but you need to play more of these games that are uninteresting to you in order to be able to play TWL."

As far as the amount of squads accepted into TWL is concerned, there are many choices to make but I think it comes down to two main choices. Either you want to make more attempts at including as many people as possible in TWL, which in turn make TWL qualification more of a joke. Or you want to limit the amount of people that get into TWL, making it harder to get into, more desirable, and keeping the pilots who have been playing longer interested by not making them play my little ponies in TWLD. It's a tough decision but when you make the older pilots uninterested in the league then you greatly diminish the competition of it, which last time I checked is one of the most important components of it. If newer players are really dedicated to the game they would work harder at qualifying for TWL, and in turn it would be that much more important to them once they made it in. If they are of the opinion that "oh I didn't make it into TWL this year I quit" then they wouldn't have been dedicated either way, cause they would have been stomped in TWL by more experienced squads anyways. It's a tough decision predicting how people are going to react, on one hand you have the possibility of making it easier for newer people to get into the league and on the other hand you have the possibility of making it uninteresting for people who have returned to play TWL for many years.

i fail to see the point in rewarding inactive players. ok, they made the game what it is now. but tell me the point of ignoring the people that are actually playing daily now?

actually I dont really care what you do but I know that if I would still be active I would hate the fact to play some stupid boring twd games only to qualify for twl which I know Im good enough to play anyway (if I was good)

and as someone mentioned, you encourage squadhopping and unstable squads which is something I have always been against.

rewarding loyalty and leadership = stable squads = good league

I know most players would rather play in twl against an old -final- squad with history than some new boring uninterested squad who popped up 2 months before twl started.

and yeah, its not like we are getting new players into this game, why not try to keep the old players who makes this game interesting?

final hasn't even played twd since twl ended... why should we keep bending over backwards for them? because they've been around a long time is great, but if they aren't competetive anymore, what's the point?

last season, final was the only squad that wasn't in the top 12 in twld when registration locked for twl... every other squad was active and had enough points, this really won't make that big a difference, just promoting activity in trench wars... i fail to see how that is a bad thing.

I for one would like to see more than one TWL staffer speak up and defend this decision. Otherwise, it just seems like another one of pascone's hairbrained plans. If no one else does speak up, then the community will just assume that even the decision makers are too scared to take credit for such an idea.
