Why making TWL once a year? its a big event in TW that actually might interest and attract people to play trench wars. Also, having a long season of TWD games might get bored over time.

I do agree that the average skill level has increased, but I also think that there are hardly any powerhouses left, if none. Despite the fact that the competition is 'better' now, you can also wonder yourself what the Champion's League would be without teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Manchester United etc, but only with teams like Shakter Donetsk, Sparta Prague, Rosenberg, FC Thun. Is the competition better, or would the league be rather boring? Isn't that the same reason why people rather play Champion's League than UEFA Cup? (despite the money)

I believe that in previous seasons there were far more 'respectable squads' that could show some competition and were able to do a few upsets. Right now most new squads seem to consist of a bunch of people who switch squads for breakfast, really having hardly any real squad-identity and generally are able to pull less upsets. Perhaps I could say now that TWL perhaps doesn't lack skill, but 'true squads'. And yes, you get 'true squads' by being around a long time, building up some history. A lot of newer people act like veterans say ignorant stuff, but in every competition (sports for instance) squads gain respect rather by history than by current results. Let that be your lesson for today.

yeah he has a good point...i think most people can honestly say they only really 'respect' the squads which stick around for a few seasons such as disoblige, dice etc..who's going to remember lifeban after twl? (no offence) those kind of squads are just filled with players who hop weekly...even twice a week.
In reply to dreamwin and farscape...twl should be only held once a year or it loses its 'prestigious' feel to it which is already heavily on the decline.

Could be true. But isn't this discussion basically about the way we experience TWL now, and the way we experienced it years ago? It doesn't really matter how we define those good squads of the past right now, what matters is how we defined them back then. :turned:

well if you see them now as squads that maybe weren't that great, you'd perhaps see that the competition is at a new high EACH week. anyone can lose at any time. doesn't that make it more fun?

why would i want to play one game in a season, against the other top squad? the way i see it, you can show up each week and it is a challenge to win, nothing is free this year.

Style isn't old javs, we do have a few old javs but our lineup has newer javs and sometimes warbirds in it. You would have never beaten us if people valued squad loyalty a little more in this game, but then again giving credit where it isn't due is your specialty.
