heard of rasaq, burg, beam, chuckle, let, welt? no need to mention myself as im probably top 5 wb in tw but these other guys have stepped up big recently and are much better players than the old tired noshift veterans.

heard of morin, spaceship, misled, upkeep, joemoma, joram, rondo, zax? neither had i, until a few months ago, but i'd bet on a team of them destroying whatever dynasty can come up with. but no, dynasty is full of twl vets and guys who have been playing for years right, so they must be better. better vote for dynasty since we're more familiar with them.

Showing examples (shinobi, rampage) that sucked in TWL, but qualified with the current system, to proove that my 'idea' wouldn't work.

Talking about Egyptian out of the blue, as if I suggested such an idea to get Egyptian in TWL. With TW's current activity and amount of (good) squads, it will be ZERO problem to get into TWL. So that's not even the case.

You name a bunch of players like they are new, but in fact played for years, sometimes on a different name and actually still suck compared to the real good players. Perhaps two or three people of all the people you mentioned are decent. So you pretend I haven't seen them, but in fact Beam and Misled were both Egyptian. Do your homework.

In the same post you dare to call yourself top 5 wb. I assume you forgot two zeroes. Heroes and zeroes rhyme, but are not the same. You are not a hero.

I really don't like giving automatic spots to squads from previous seasons. Squads are just groups of players, these groups of players change from season to season even when the squad name is the same. Squads could have completely different players actually playing in the TWL matches from one season to another and still qualify due to what players who aren't even on the squad anymore or are inactive did last season. It's also unfair because if a team is automatically qualified for one league, they can focus on qualifying on other leagues for the next season, where as squads that aren't auto-qualified and want to play in multiple leagues can't do that. Also the finalists are not necessarily the two best teams from the previous season. Take season 6 for example, in the regular season rampage went 10-0, melee went 8-2, they both lost to Elusive in the playoffs, rampage happened to face them in the semis and Melee played them in the finals, so Melee would auto-qualify over Rampage just because they were lucky and didn't face Elusive until the finals despite having a worse overall record. Similar circumstances have occurred in more recent seasons as well.

I highly agree here. I love the new system developed, looks squeaky clean, but it's too few. Maybe once we do get an AML going alongside TWL, 8 would be perfect, but until we do it's not. There are alot of great ld squads that could take those last 2 spots, or even 4 spots. I'd like to see 12, 10 is cool, but 8 just seems to cut ALOT of people out of twl.

I don't think it's going to get the results you want, alot of people might loose interest, and be alot less active not being a part of twl. Meaning it would be harder for those twl squads to practice during the season, because alot of good wbs would take off until next season.

Again, the idea is awesome, 8 just seems too few unless it has the AML alongside it. Just what I think, kudos to everyone working their tails off.

I think Mirror said that the numbers are rough estimates and, depending on activity, are subject to change.

The idea of an AML isn't terrible, it's just labor intensive and could easily fall flat on it's face. Without even discussing the amount of squads that would be included (because active squad numbers rise and fall with the wind) there are still a number of issues (in no particular order.)

1) You need a website, and not a shitty one

2) You need hosts. When I ran TWDT a while back I was hard pressed to find people who wanted to host games and I suspect not much has changed.

3) When would you have games? If you run games during the weekend, your hosts are needed for TWL not to mention the fact that most staff participates in TWL. So you can have the ZH's host the events, fair enough except for the point I made above.

4) Squads. Most people don't want to play amateur anything (maybe porn.) And if your goal is to include the vast majority of active squads, what happens when one dissolves in either league? The obvious answer would be that you would just move one from the AML to TWL and fill the spot with a squad not in either league. But the problem here is that if you have 2 leagues, I'd be willing to put money that there won't be any (viable) squads participating in some league.

These issues aren't unsolvable, I think you just have to look at them realistically.

It also bears mentioning that, at least for me and I suspect most players, when I started playing the driving force that kept me playing was the oppritunity to get on a squad to participate in TWL. So I don't think excluding some squads would really decrease the population by "1/10th" as one of you put it. Especially with Mirror scrapping the TWL rule regarding dissolved squads because, let's face it, every season someone dissolves, so fight over that spot.
