All I'm saying is that we should have learned from last year. People generally don't like delays! If you gave us a DATE as to when it WOULD start, then people wouldn't have bitched about getting it started. And I did ask for this theoretical date in 3 different posts. Its Week 1 and already we've had 2 weeks of delays? Please. I understand its necessary to get everything work, but it should have worked in the first place.1:koan> indy is like being skinny and liking weird music

Edit: not singling out Project as the worst offender, he's just the last one I read. The downside of being better than

In Project's defense, and if you read his post with some insight, I am 100% sure Project is glad that Epi and PUSHER are doing a great job. I agree with Project 100%. It's free yes (to be truthful it really isn't free, some people have donated to the cause already), but when you announce a date to commence a League in a game with several thousands of different players anticipating it- you shouldn't play the 1st week, and then delay it for 2 weeks. That's almost as bad as letting someone preview Matrix 2: Reloaded as one of the first showings in the world, and then cutting the movie off after 20 minutes and saying the rest will be shown in 2 weeks.I fucking own you in the warbird, shut the fuck up.

Yeah, but if they don't delay it, and problems persist, there will be a whole other group of people bitching because Matchbot died (or any other slew of website/game-related problems). As much as I don't like the season being delayed, I also understand that getting things done right takes time--especially when you don't have the capability to work on it full time. Give them a little bit of a break, and you'll be able to shoot spaceships again in no time.Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

If I was push and epi, I'd delay it another extra week so they can take their time making sure everything's done right.. and in the proces, you'd give a big "fuck you" to the haters.

Push/Epi don't/didn't know when leagues would be ready to start. It's not like they're working 8-hour days on TWL, and the only variables in the situation are programming/logistics variables. If Push or Epi tells you that (whatever) will be ready in a week, and then an old girlfriend that wants to fuck one of their brains out all week shows up in town, or some guy shows up and says, "Want to go smoke a blunt?", or whatever, Push/Epi are not going to put that shit off so that they can meet some deadline they made for Subspace. Would you? No.
So, the point is, A) in this situation, they thought everything was ready, and they were wrong. What do you want to do? Would you have wanted three weeks of pre-season? Can you imagine how much shit they would have gotten if there had been three weeks of smoothly-running preseason? Everyone would have wanted the real deal to start. and B) Making a deadline for a huge task creates stress in someone's life, and to expect either Push or Epi to do that just strikes me as kind of unreasonable.5:gen> man

still, everytime something went wrong last season we were told it was the guinea pig season and everything was supposed to be worked out for this season, I don't want to be told that my frustration is out of place, it's become a situation where you can't count on anything to be on time or working properly.

Fact is, things take time, if you let people rush you into decisions, you'll get backed up. Be ready for things before hand people, that is the way this crazy world spins around. Hurry up and wait is a good motto to live by.
Just in case you're wondering, I ain't a hater. I appreciate all the work Epi and crew has done. I just know that this could have all been avoided with some well spent time and pre-planning (which I know they did a lot of that too).Last edited by Ruby; 05-08-2003, 02:03 AM.I fucking own you in the warbird, shut the fuck up.
