I am going keep this as short as I can. For the last several weeks the TWD website has had the following statement:
TWL Qualification and Start Dates
Apr 17, 2011 by flared
TWL qualification cutoff will take place Sunday May 1st at12:00am EST. All 3 leagues will qualify 10 squads. Final participants from the previous TWL season will receive automatic invites so prepare accordingly. Goodluck and start practicing!
Resulting from what appears to be a major error on the partof TWL staff, the actual cut off date was May 2nd at 12:00am EST. Sweet had prepared accordingly to be positioned for TWLB qualification at the proper date. During the one day delay, which neither I nor any of my captainswere aware of until approximately 5:00-6:00pm on May 1st, two squads, Paladen and Hit crammed in several games to surpass us in the rankings. Of course, having believed we were already qualified for all three leagues, the majority of my squad did not even log in yesterday. Consequently, we were unable to muster up even 5 players to play a BD in the final hour before the apparently “new” cut off date.
I am going to be reasonable in my request as this was an error on the part of staff and not on the squads that qualified. It seems that three squads were predominantly affected by this sudden shift, those being Sweet, Hit, and Paladen. Given that various allegations of feeding also occurred on this final day, I believe the only fair way to accurately determine which two deserve the final spots in TWLB is to host a qualification tournament. Have all three squads play each other during what should have been pre-season, and the two winning squads should qualify. If all squads end up 1-1 following these games, then timing considerations should be applied.
I know this is an early appeal and I apologize for that, but I believe it is well warranted and my request is not that unreasonable.
Thank you.
