TWLB Qualifications Appeal - Sweet

I agree with Reab on everything on both LB and LJ after reading more carefully.

Fact is, we (Disoblige) had several players who had read on the twd site about the time and then didn't decide to show (for example wax who is maybe our best Jav didn't show because he thought we were already in). I hadn't noticed that the time was wrong until my squadmmates came in the day after and said why the **** we weren't in LJ when we were qualified when the qualifying was supposed to end (IE, flareds post on twd site).
Disoblige was in TWLJ as off the original time which flared had posted but Paladen and Asians wasn't, the fact that Asians was fed off by Ltkings several games in a row to make LJ doesn't make it better for them (which you can see on their Ave R).

As it looks like it will be a mini tourny of some sort in LB it should only be logic and fair that there is one for LJ for obvious reasons.

I agree with renzi. Paladen definately wasnt fed with that game. Pandora needed every point they could have to may be able to attract one or the other baser before twl roster lock. It would've been dumb to feed points, since having paladen in over sweet or hit doesnt really make their chances bigger to win anything since it affects every other squad aswell. That 1 guy goes afk can happen always. We almost lost #10 in lj cause all javs went afk and i had to jd with basers, and, looking at it now, it was paladens best move to let pandora forfeit instead of cancelling, can't blame them for doing a tactical choice.


What Ease has said earlier is totally correct. Paladen was qualified on both days. EVEN IF sweet and hit were asked to compete in lb for 10 squads action, they were not able to make more points than paladen, no matter the game was a forfeit or a real played game, no matter how good paladen is at bding AND no matter if they only played 5s or 6s.
A BD is a BD. They somehow made enough points to kick out sweet or hit, and that was not easy for them and was an awesome job! I think its really nice to see that they made it, and maybe paladen will be one squad in future that bds more often aswell! they got the ppl and can build up the potential. I aswell see no chance for them this LB, but whoever qualifies, is in. You can not just put them out because they aren't as good as sweet or hit, they legally made the cutoff.


There should be a game (BEST of 3 bds) between sweet and hit, because one of them was qualified on Sat, and one on Sun. The argument about "everyone knew it was sunday" is totally incorrect. Im Smod and i even took calls and copy/pasted the post from flared from twdsite to asians and others. As i logged on Sunday we almost fell out of lj and i was shocked aswell.

Yes there was a mistake by the head of twl and yet he is to make an official statement, but there is definately a way to find a solution everyone can get along with without calling out anyone else.

So put your dicks aside and fucking wait for an official response. My ideas are listed above and below.

PS: I see the same situation in JD/LJ happened with Disoblige / Asians / Paladen.
Paladen wasnt qualified Saturday, but on sunday.
Disoblige was qualified saturday, but not sunday.
Asians wasnt qualified saturday, but on sunday

If the same happened in dd/ld , i dunno.


The solution that comes to my mind: Postpone twl for 1 week, and hold the following torunaments:

Basing:
Sweet vs. hit, best of 3 games, since either one of them was qualified on either sunday or saturday. paladen was qualified on both days so has a secure spot


Javing:
Disoblige vs. Asians (1 game)
Asians vs. Paladen (1 game)
Paladen vs. Disoblige (1 game)

Best 2 squads qualify for Twlj. If every squad wins 1 game, the 2 squads with the best K : D ratio in total qualify.

Either the bd/lb system or jd/lj system could be used in DD/LD aswell, if the same circumstances happened there.

Oh and more officially:

We feel that Paladen now has a good chance to prove themselves in this mini-tourny that they are good enough for this years TWLB 8v8 and that this tourny is the most fair for all the involved squads. If the squads have anything to do in TWLB they should be able to show it here by doing good in basing games in the said tourny.

Same should be made for LJ for same reasons

That would be my argument as well. There wasn't an issue until Penetrate fed all three squads below us in an attempt to knock us out of TWLB. Hit, Sweet and Disoblige's only wins leading up to cut-off date were vs. Penetrate.

Don't drag us into your shit storm. That win vs Penetrate was several days before the cut off date and you obviously didn't see the BD which was hard fought by both teams. And they didn't change ships back and forth from jav terr and spid like cape did against Paladen a few hours before the ladder was locked.

Atleast 2 games in preseason. Make sure everything runs smoothly with the bots and also, if there's new hosts, give them time to get situated.

If a squad was qualified for TWLB at both of the possible qualification times they will not be asked to participate in the tournament unless they are Paladen and their invitation will stand. As soon as the TWD ladders from that time are available I will announce which squads will participate in the qualification matches.

Update

In my opinion, as well as a majority of the other TWL ops, Sweet's appeal is indeed legitimate. Due to the ambiguity in the posted cutoff time as well as the time it took to correct it, Sweet's appeal will be approved.

This coming Sunday, rather than playing week 1 of preseason, the affected squads will participate in a match/tournament to determine which squads will qualify for TWL. The rest of TWL will run as normal, and the squads effected by this appeal will only play the qualifying game for TWLB. After the match(es), qualifications will be final.

As far as what squads will be involved--I've been trying to access to the TWBD ladder at 12:00am on Sunday May 1st (the time Sweet though qualifications ended) to see what positions the squads were in but unfortunately do not have this information as of now, though it should be available shortly. If a squad was qualified for TWLB at both of the possible qualification times they will not be asked to participate in the tournament and their invitation will stand. As soon as the TWD ladders from that time are available I will announce which squads will participate in the qualification matches.
