Not at all, I was simply making the point that on top of getting pummeled in TWL you can also count on being pigeon holed into not playing TWL at all if your captain decides to call it quits. Why bother playing on any squad that isn't very well established? In fact, why create any new squads

1. There will always be people who LIKE to be on underdog squads.

2. Ancients did not dissolve, they got disqualified.

I dont get why you are treating this situation as if it was complete fault of the captain. It was cooperation from the inactivity of the squad as a whole which caused them to be unable to show 5. Trouble was the captain of ancients before he left. How are you using this argument.

Awesome, someone that actually read the thread and provided a legitimate counter-point. I agree with you, if other squads would have known they probably would have picked up some of the players as well. Alternatively the TWL ops could check with the other captains in LB, Megaman already said that he couldn't care less in LB and I'm not positive but I believe that's where Rule wants to utilize trouble.

They're only eligible to play in lj so I'm not sure why people keep talking about lb. Maybe I missed part of the conversation, but I just had to make sure to clarify this

Actually more than anything I'm suggesting that anytime a squad dissolves/resigns it's a complicated situation and should be treated as such. TWL ops should weigh in on which players can play, where and when. It should be handled just like a TWL match appeal where all TWL ops weigh in (in some hopes to prevent bias). As I mentioned earlier (C)'s and players that were previously (C)'s should be looked at closely as they have the power to abuse this more than a regular player.

That's the TWL ops choice, but prior to starting this thread the response from a TWL op was that they're not allowed to play in TWL period. If Rule decides to not play them in TWLJ that's his choice, I'm not a (C) for Real and I don't choose the lineups. I started the thread because I thought it was stupid to just flat out say that they couldn't play in TWL.

I'm not sure if there's any truth to what Jones said but I know that Dele was unbanned once for an LD final and there's nothing in the rulebook about that, just saying we constantly change rules on the fly in this game for certain situations.

True, but the point is that the rules have not been strictly followed in any previous season and suddenly now doing so would only serve to make a bad situation worse. I agree with whomever said this should have been addressed before season starts and not in mid-season. I also think that the root cause to this annual waste of time is poorly written rules. I believe they are not well written because the 'rule' and the 'penalties' are combined instead of being distinctly separate. I think everyone agrees that 'humans' should be allowed to some latitude when it comes to determining the 'penalty'. This is why so many people bring up the argument "but it did/didn't affect the outcome of the game". The issue we have had for years is that by having them combined means that it appears that the rules aren't followed at all when the truth is that it is the penalty part that is being manipulated.

This is why many legal systems have sentencing as a separate distinct process. The rules should not be flexible, the potential penalties should be.
FYI, I have previously re-written the rules this way but no one bothered to adopt them.

Some are mad they can play lj, some are mad they can't play all 3 leagues, some are mad pascone unbanned delectable (????), some are mad the rules are too strict, some are mad they are not strict enough, and izor is the one making the most sense right now.
