Since there is a lot of arguing going on about how to/how not to change TWL, let's sum it all up here. I will only include the good things that could really help this zone and increase its population during this league:
TWL PLAN
- TWL is run twice a year (summer and winter or spring and autumn, depending on players' votes (should make a poll for this))
- TWLD - 7 teams qualify
- TWLJ - 7 teams qualify
- TWLB - 7 teams qualify
TWL AMATEUR
Regarding the current situation, 8 TWDD, 8 TWJD and 5 TWBD squads fall out. They then battle it out in a tournament-like TWL Amateur to battle for the remaining spot for the Regular Season of TWL.
- Games are played during the first 2 pre-season week matches in TWL (2 weeks time to make the TWL Amateur finish).
- Tournament is played like a TWD match, with no rule changes (TWDD best of 3, TWJD best of 3, TWBD 1st to 15 mins).
TWDD
- Since there are 8 squads left, they play quarterfinal tournamet matches.
- The remaining 8 are put in brackets and play TWL Amateur-Quarterfinals:
8th vs 15th
9th vs 14th
10th vs 13th
11th vs 12th
- 4 winning squads advance to the semis. The winner of the first match plays the winner of the last match and the two remaining battle it out amongst each other for a place in the finals!
- TWL Amateur- Finals: The Finals are played after the last TWL preseason match, i.e. 5pm EST on Sunday. The winners of the TWL Amateur proceed to the Regular season of TWL. (Also applies for TWJD)
TWBD
- There are 5 squads left in TWBD. The highest one (8th ranked) gets a bye and advances to the finals! The remaining 4 battle it out in semifinals:
9th vs 12th
10th vs 11th
- 3 teams make it into the finals. They play each other once to determine who is the best amongst each other (total 3 games are played in the finals). The winner of this final advances to TWL Regular season.
TWL Changes:
- 40 games per league in order to qualify
- Soft lock - 1st pre-season week of TWL
- Hard lock - 2nd pre-season week of TWL (after the TWL Amateur Finals are over, so no squadhopping occurs later on)
- 4 best teams in TWL Regular Season make it to the respective Semifinals (LD, LJ and LB) so that the season does not last too long and there are no byes for top squads
- Semifinals: 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd
- Finals: Best of 3 in all 3 leagues
- This way TWL lasts only approx. 3 months (with pre-season and finals included)
- Roster limits: 10 for 1 league, 16 for 2 leagues and 22 for 3 leagues respectively
TWL Staff Helpers
Anyone that would like to host/help with TWL should be invited into a separate branch of Staff where they get trained by ER's to later on host TWL/Amateur games and help otherwise. They only receive powers for hosting/posting on forums etc. Everything else is excluded (like flared suggested last year).
For further information, look at Pressure's great post about revamping TWL here:

Hope this makes it more understandable how a Amateur League can be successfully implemented into the TWL Schematics without pros whining too much. Only 1 lower-ranked squad makes it into TWL and the Amateur League only last 2 weeks during the pre-season weeks of TWL.
Feel free to post your own opinions/improvements on this matter. All are welcome to post their suggestions as long as there is no bashing/insulting/fighting going on. If you wanna insult/bash each other, click Continuum.exe and battle it out in pub or in DD/JD/BD games.
Thanks for your time guys and have fun in TW.
