TWL Season Seven Qualification

I also think that the number of twlb squads should be lowered. At this point in time, there isn't even enough teams to fill a 16 team league with squads that can even put up a challenge. Not to mention the frequent dropouts. Paladen's spot has been replaced now, what, 2 or 3 times already?

Having said that though, I don't believe that twd is a good way to determine who gets into twl... The way it is now, it punishes squads that might challenge higher-end squads, and benefits people that only challenge newbie squads that won't even put up a fight. But I guess there really isn't a better way to do it.

i think that most squads that are in TWL are going to have the view they should get an automatic entry into the next season...

i agree with rewarding a certain amount for accomplishment but rewarding inactivity and poor play seems rather silly

going back to the start of this TWL (and i only know the BD division, so my references will be there, no slight on the other divisions)
certain squads...
ie NS/BS and Paladen will be used for the easiest examples.....

were either very poor, or completely inactive in TWD
the end result?

NS = stated they had 50% of their original roster from last season..but how many of those played a game this season.... the end result was a mass recruitment by NS just before TWL as guys tried to get on a TWL roster

BS = kudos for trying, but really never should have been in the basing league this season, they didnt bother playing leading up to TWL and squads that were far stronger teams were left out in the cold

Paladen = entered TWL over 200 points below everyone else in TWBD and was awful...

at least had the respect for the league and withdrew when they realized this... and i think people around the league respected them for it


All this being said..... (and this isnt a slight on any of your squads folks, im posting this in the best interest of the league... i hope anyways)

if you arent going to make the bottom 2-4 squads re-qualify....

why not put a minimum TWBD match quota on the last month or 2 months before the next TWL

like each squad has to play 10-15 games in the last month or 20 in the last 2 months before TWL starts

set a standard... you want the best and most solid squads in there...then make it so that the best get there, but have to earn it

this would also prevent last minute disbanding the week TWL starts hopefully

anyways... thats my 2 cents... but its canadian and not worth that much

but TWL does and has represented the cream of the crop and giving a free ride to squads that dont deserve it seems a shame, and then as seen some of them dissolve during the season where a team that was active and prepared had to sit on the sidelines and then comes in with no eligibility for the playoffs

as a replacement squad comes into leagues with a 0 wins record.... why not let them be eligible for the playoffs if they make it with their record....? if they got subbed in during the first 2-3 weeks and still managed to earn a record to make the playoffs....would you say they deserved it?

anyways...just food for thought as i know everyone likes to try to help and improve an ever-evolving league

i think what ur forgeting to see is squads like Cripples,paladen,NS,BS....all wont dissolve mid season...and we like the break from competition...we dont wanna play a 9 week TWL season (which lasts like 15)...then ahvta play TWBD so many times a week...we like the break...also look at Camisade..they were active in TWBD and earned there spot...now look where they are...u'd rather have a squad like Camisade who enters bc they play alot then get inactive and die midseason..over a squad like those 4 above who WONT die no matter what...even Cripz almost died but still show 8 to games now...dont get rid of the stable squads for better ones who will drop out...and even as u look at it even mambo who earned tehr way in by playing alot of TWBD is getting inactive...it happens in squads

on a side note dont lower the roster limit..why? what does it hurt for a squad to have 30 ppl? that can give them more of a reason to show 8 ppl to a game...some ppl are lucky they got that many ppl on roster
