Lag in base gives some annoyance, like some people can stay alive for a very long time and by that keep you from defending flagroom when you kicked out the other team.
I know a few people that eat alot and still get to kill me in one single shot. That makes it harder, but I like the challenge.
Some people don't know lag from bad aim, when 3 of them attack one spider they just randomly shoot alot of bullets in the direction and assume everyone hits.. if you would look closer you would see 3 spiders missing alot while the one being attacked will keep his energy level high. When he then shoots at the low energy random shooters they will die in one hit. Learn to aim, dodge and how to manage your energy level and things will look better.
There will be people that are hard to kill, just see it as their skill.
It's unfair, just like in real life.. deal with it.
