I could have sworn this game had something to do with fun... like playing different people. I can't wait for leagues to start, so I can base everybody, not just the same 3-4 squads who constantly have enough to base.

The way TWD works, you dont have to play a lot of games as long as you win most of them. Last season Elusive played something like 80 TWDD matches compared to over 150 matches by other top 10 squads (I used to count the total matches played, but these are just rough estimates) and look where they ended up.

Right now -Final- has played 33 TWDD's and our rating would put us in 5th if we werent left off for inactivity. Syndicate has 45, Shinobi has 146. Aura has 182, and Solstice has 153 (all within roughlythe same time period). So lets see, Solstice has played 120 more matches than us in WB alone and we sit a whole 29 points behind them. Syndicate has also played 101 fewer games than the squad that trails them in the standings, Shinobi. Now think about that for a second; you dont need to play a lot to do well, or even win TWD. Id say to qualify for TWL this season we could pull it off with 1 week of solid match play, so Im not really worried .

lets hope, wouldnt be the same with -f- remade then not making TWL or falling outa TWL, but Rand is rite if u guy show u play a fwe games to get into TWL its hard to say if u'll last the whole season or have no no shows but with the name -f- it should be noted it most likely wont happen

Squads will be allowed to have a total of 2 forfeits per season. If that amount is exceeded, the squad will be removed from participation in their respective league.

Who said that was a forfeit? It's only a forfeit if the team doesn't show up.

ya ur diggin urself in, u ruled it as a forfiet bc cripples were ruled 0 points...we played so we would of had more then 0 either it was a forfeit and 117-0 or it wasnt and it was whatever the score was in game which i dont remember but it wasnt 117-0

Actually I never said it was a forfeit. I remember quite correctly, and I said "Cripples refuses to fight and have spectated before the game ends, thereby hurting Melee's score. Does Melee want to appeal this game for any reason?"

Rand replied with yes, and so the appeal went through immediately, and was processed. Because Cripples refused to fight in a TWLB game that they were losing badly in, and because I wasn't about to just randomly give Melee more points, I took Melee's current score as their score and gave Cripples zero so that Melee would get fair compensation for not getting to fight a Cripples team for the last minutes of the game, and so that their own +/- (which was necessary to advance to the playoffs) would not be severely affected by a team that would blatently make a mockery out of the league.

Cripples decided they would bend the rules, make a mockery of the league then too bad! If you want to be losers, don't be so in the league.

Although this situation was not technically documented in the rules, I want to point out that since an appeal was officially launched, the rules of appeal were applied in which all factors are looked at to ensure fair play. In addition, not every single situation can be documented or have rules for. There must be some leeway, and thus I ruled accordingly. Any reasonable person would agree that having all of Cripples spec 5-10 mins before the game was over is unfair for Melee which needs +/- points to advance in playoffs. If Cripples are going to intentionally screw things up for others, they deserved to be punished and so they did.


Relevant rule:
6.01 If a squad feels that such factors as game referee decisions, staff involvement, server or router error, cheating, or other instances have affected the outcome and fairness of a game, that squad has the right to appeal to the League Operator. It is up to the squad to ensure that as much information as possible is included in the appeal for the League Operators to make a fair decision.


The game was NOT a forfeit. Defintion of forfeits:

Double Squadding, Cheating and:

8.06 If a squad is unable to submit a valid line-up within the allotted time, that squad will automatically forfeit the match.

8.07 If a squad fails to show up for their scheduled match, the squad will automatically forfeit the match.

10.01 Squads will be allowed to submit a maximum starting line-up of 8 eligible players. There is a minimum of 5 eligible players needed in order to start a game. If a squad is unable to meet the minimum requirements, that squad will be given a forfeit loss.


Therefore the game was NEVER a forfeit. Stop looking for excuses to argue when you were clearly in the wrong. It's childish behaviour like that, which makes this game so annoying to everyone else except for fellow children.

nah u named it as a forfeit, and either way we should of been rewarded our points that we had earned, and the fact that 5+ of our guys laged out is why they speced, and i remember we had 1-2 guys who played the rest of the game so we didnt all spec

1> If you would have explained the how you got to the conclusion then, like you did now 3 months later, you could have avioded a lot of flack for it.
2> I find it rather childish to attack me because i am bringing up a point never addressed by staff. No one explained why the score was 117k-0. No one ever said how you got to that. A simple explantion was all that was needed. Now please try to be mature about your posts and not attack someone because they are not a twl op and are not privy to knowing everything.


simple idea for next season: explain why something happens instead of leaving everyone in the dark and ignoring us in the forums.

I explained it many times, both on here and in the game. Cripples just never actually accepted my explaination and kept saying that I was making stuff up.
