    MVP: wicket666!
The first match of the week was truly the most bizarre of the bunch. How the fuck did this happen in 2019? The high stars shit the bed and were slapped upside the head by 6* staff members. We find ourselves in a new era.

Breakout 6* superstar Wicket666 (12-9) shattered my lineup cap by achieving more than 10 kills with an impressive MVP. LaSenza (10-4) and beam's (9-9) clutch time heroics weren't necessary this game, as they had a healthy dose of support from veteran bram (7-5). But this was an entire team effort, and the biggest contribution came from the debut of the ancient Elusive veteran, Doughnut (11-5), showing no rust and performing like one of the top shelf 8* warbirds in the game, which he is.

The short game time of 9:34, and Power not exactly being an aggressive team, tells me that Gladiator began the game flat and lost some heart at some point in the game. 5v5 matches, especially in the cheat res era, shouldn't be finished in under 10 minutes. Even with a slow start, a veteran team should be able grind through a slump and regain their ground against a midrange dominant team like Power. But Gladiator's highest rated players, Tripin (5-10) and Lockdown (4-10), failed to find their footing at any point, vastly under performing, and the rest of the team collapsed alongside them. Spezza adding himself may have been the better move (I hate hindsight too, spezz.) Morph (11-10), the newest 3-league star in the game, continued his pace of impressive consistency. But he needed about 250% more accuracy to make this close. It wasn't.

    HOT: Wicket666 (12-9), Doughnut (11-5)
    NOT: Lockdown (4-10), Tripin (5-10)

Footage of nowon trying to figure out how the fuck wicket666 destroyed his team. Zidane was just as confused:

The biggest surprise team in warbird continued their head-scratching run, as Commodo and Turban continue to masquerade as 10* warbirds in javelin's clothing. Ricko and Geio provided veteran warbird stability, and daeva continues to impress as a potential star in the near future. This was a beatdown.

Ease, the 92 year old cynical elitest, continued his impressive streak of not reading the new rules and lineup caps for the 3rd week in a row. As a result, Thunder has struggled to figure out a stable lineup (HE HAS SEVERAL BROKEN LINEUPS), and his team was once again handed the punishing returns. Engineers (2-10) struggled mightily to regain the touch that won him back-to-back TWLD titles, and only Vys (9-10) and Ogron (10-10) finished the game with respectable scores.

    HOT: Commodo (13-8), turban (12-5)
    NOT: Ease, Engineers (2-10)

    TERRORIST wins this game!
    MVP: RaCka!
The two heavyweight warbird teams clashed for the first time, in what many expected to be a nail biter. Unfortunately for me, reality did not meet the expectation. Not even halfway.

Last week, I debuted my 8*s lineup and they proceeded to dust the field in a pair of 50-30 wins. My team looked unstoppable, but I knew Terrorist would be a different test. With my new advanced artillery, Pineapple Express, finally eligible for warfare, I confidently added my 8*s and expected them to hold their phalanx against the best rusher in the game.

Around 1:32 of the match, my confidence quickly transformed into horror as RaCka (14-10, 9 R1 kills, NINE R1 KILLS) continued to run away with the WB kill race, blitzkrieging my team along with dw, Ra (12-6(!)), and Ardour. Wirah flashed the veteran IQ by adding a quality 7-3, and their teamwork had us in turmoil from the start of the battle.

Pineapple Express, supposed to be working in unison with the 11th Legion, ignored the game plan and began launching Paladen branded arrows from R6 with no Alextron to cover for him. My team, mostly getting TK'd from the "SUB PINEAPPLE" spam, were gangraped one by one in the mountainside. Pineapple would eventually sympathize with their pain, as I refused to sub him out, following Caesar's orders. He ended the match, and his Roman citizenship, with a fitting beheading at the hands of Ardour. I'll pretend this never happened.

    HOT: RaCka (14-10), Ra (12-6)
    NOT: Pineapple Express (3-10)

            THUNDER wins this game!
            MVP: Ease
As both teams were fresh off a disappointing loss in their earlier games, both Ease and Spezza were forced to experiment with new lineups. Nowon played one of the more unique lines by adding 9/9/9/7/6 (Morph is 7*... had to triple check...)

But he wasn't the only captain with chess moves. Ease, fresh off of realizing he's actually a player on his own roster, finally added himself and took the game into his own hands. Wait, wtf? HE ALSO REALIZED HE HAS THE TWO MOST BROKEN 7* WBS IN THE GAME AND CAN ADD BOTH OF THEM? #Fuck.

For Gladiator, Nowon (3-7) couldn't get it rolling, subbing himself out for Cape (6-3) in a successful passing of the baton, but the rest of the team was overwhelmed by Thunder's newly stacked lineup. Tripin (6-10), foreshadowing Maroon 5's super bowl halftime show, just couldn't get any note to sound good on this particular Sunday. 9* players have much higher expectations, and Tripin played the biggest role in his team's 0-2 performance this week. Strange to see Trasher on the bench, but FUCK hindsight.

In the lineup cap era, egos and name brands can't be part of the equation. The only goal is stuffing as much value in the 40* cap as possible. With two elite 10s and the two best 7*s in Jamal and Major Crisis, Thunder has officially entered the race for the TWDT-D Championship. Let's see if they can continue to get production from the 6*, or if a 9* can finally become reliable enough to get Ogron (*8) back in the lineup. They'll be tested next week against Legio XI and a Power team that hopes to overtake their playoff spot.

            HOT: Ease (12-6), Jamal (10-5)
            NOT: Tripin (6-10), Nowon (3-7)

            LEGIO XI wins this game!
            MVP: Peru!
After being shaken from my 8*s lineup collapsing, I unretired from ship 1 and balanced myself with Beast at the 6* slot (just realized he was 6* the night before.) Zidane felt confident in his previous winning line and planned on testing the momentum theory.

Turns out, Tiny was right. Momentum is not a thing. At least not when Peru (15-8) is in usual dominant form and automatic from midrange. He continued his position as Legio XI's best warbird (HE'S FUCKING 8*), as he Mike Tyson'd 4 of Power's players out of the match. Flew, with his impact never easily diagnosed in a scorebox, created an enormous amount of chaos for my team to capitalize on to the tune of 20 R1s. Momentum may be an illusion, but the Flew Effect can't be denied.

Beam (11-10) was the only thing worth writing home about on Power's side. LaSenza failed to live up to the 10* expectation, and Wicket666 (5-10) couldn't roll a 6 to save his life, getting hunted out early and leaving his team to be outnumbered against superior weaponry. Doughnut's alzheimers flared up inbetween games (11-6 to 3-10), which is always unfortunate, but typical these days for Elusive veterans. Turns out his lapse in mental functioning was unforgivable, as zidane traded him to my team shortly after, opening up the return of 8* Captain Vegeta next Sunday with Power's season on the line.

            HOT: Peru (15-8)
            NOT: LaSenza (7-10), Doughnut (3-10)

Footage of Zidane bringing Doughnut into his office to notify him he's been traded, reminding him that Power claimed the Triple Crown last season (Hard Knocks 2019, HBO):

            SILENCE wins this game!
            MVP: Commodo!
Dreamwin would pit his undefeated Terrorist team against the still-confusing-as-fuck Silence lineup in what turned out to be the game of the week.

Not entirely sure why Ardour wasn't playing for Terrorist, but he may have proven himself to be irreplaceable as DW had to reach far into his lineup to find any kind of working combination. Wirah (0-4) wasn't able to get anything going and was subbed out by a slightly improved Stripes (3-6). But with RaCka (10-10) unable to channel his inner Hercules, Terrorist came just short of the 50 kill mark as they suffered their first loss in warbird.

Silence's balanced lineup of 9/9/8/7/7 produced even more balanced results, as every player managed to contribute to a huge victory to keep them in the playoff running. Geio (12-7) closed the game out in typical Fierce Fam Fashion, covering the 5 kill spread by himself, and Commodo once again made a mockery of his 7* rating, confusing the bot into giving him MVP.

Silence has now defeated both of the top WB teams in Legio XI and Terrorist. Both of those wins were accomplished by minimizing both myself (6-10) and RaCka (10-10). From what I've seen, their teaming has been extraordinary and their javelin players have the built in advantage of not being warbirds, and therefore can't be easily predicted. These guys are sneaky good. And by sneaky, I mean fuck them.

            HOT: Geio (12-7), Commodo (12-10)
            NOT: (Wirah 0-4)
