I hate Dane Cook. I saw it drunk off my ass and I still hated it, which is a sure sign that stand-up isn't funny.

Eddie Izzard is awesome though.

Allright going to hurt some feelings here:

Mitch Headburg. He's is about two M&Ms short of a chocolate factory. I saw him live, and I wouldn't exactly call his delivery "flawless" I'd call it "doped up on enough heroinne that he's oblivious to where he is".

Bill Hicks. Sorta funny, sometimes... when he's not begging god to kill the audience and throwing drinks at them or calling them names (actually that's just one specific video, but it's pretty gross). I haven't seen much else, but he sorta seems like a, well, Hick. I'm not from the south, so it seemed more stupid than funny. If you want this kind of comedy, checkout Jeff Foxworthy.

Dave Attell. Just isn't funny on Iinsomniac. I mean just not funny. BUT! f you have a chance to see him live do so immediately, he's fucking hilarious, and he really knows how to work a crowd.

Lewis Black. His videos have made me laugh so hard I've almost thrown up, too bad he gets new material once in a blue moon. Pass on seeing him live, he's as angry on camera as he is on stage, accept on camera you don't feel like he's going to come down the aisle and throttle you.

Eddie Izzard. If you don't mind the "Cocky British Guy in Women Lingerie" thing, he's an absolute riot. That, and most of his show is just off the cuff, so if you see him live it's mostly fresh, all the time.

Robin Williams. Funniest Man Alive. Ever. His HBO special is still the funniest thing I've ever seen by anyone.

Lesseee... if you're in the LA area you can check out the Ice House, they usually run some pretty funny people through there on a fairly regular basis. I don't recall his name, but there was one Korean comic, who recently had a CC special, who's I saw there the other night. He's pretty good. Basically, I'd stay away from Women comics in general (sorry, there's only so many menstration jokes one can handle), and black comics who ONLY do black comedy (This does not mean Chris Rock. Chris Rock's awesome.)

I love Dane Cook to death. He just states everyday things that goes on in a funny way, I like that. I have his dvd and cd, good times right there.

John Stewart is good on the Daily Show but when I saw him live it's the worst performance I've ever seen. Part of it was the acoustics of the room made it hard to hear him, but it wasn't very funny.

Two of my friends think Dane Cook is the best comedian ever. My one friend saw him in Syracuse over the summer and claims its the funniest thing he ever saw in his life. Personally I don't like him.


I like Daniel Tosh, he has good stuff. And Mitch Hedberg is great.

Robin williams is very rarely funny. the only thing he ever did that really made me laugh was his bit about how the scottish invented golf.


someone said jack black does stand-up? Maybe he does, but I feel like I'd know about it if he did. I'd like to see that if he does, i'll look into it.. And tenacious D's music isn't great? kyle's a fucking madman on the guitar.

I think David Cross has really funny ideas, a great comedic mind, but his delivery is often crappy and awkward. when he's funny, he's really funny.

I think it's a bit silly to criticize other's choice in comics, since we all laugh at different things.

My personal favorites though are Richard Pryor, Robin Williams and Eddie Izzard.

PS: I don't know if you would call it comedy, but I've seen a Kevin Smith special that was hilarious.

I'm sorry I like my comics to actually remember what the last thing they said was. Believe me, until I saw him live I was a big fan, but seriously. Right now the guy is heading for a stay in the clinic. He's fried out of his mind.

Maybe you caught him live at a bad time or something, the couple times I saw him he was even better than on his albums. And by "better" I don't mean, "more out of it".
