If the price is remaining the same it has the same princple as what i stated before it doesnt make a difference if the price fell or stayed the same the fact is quality has increased!

Nobody cares about quality, quality was not the issue that the original poster brought up. He didn't care if he was playing FFXI or Ms. Pacman. He was upset because he could no longer afford to spend the same amount of money on leisure as he could in previous years.

Therefore if quality of the product has increased but the real price has stayed the same then therefore the economy/business is doing very well.

Another baseless conclusion, you have no idea how the business is doing. They could be putting out super high quality products, but guess what, if nobody is buying them (which you have no way of knowing one way or the other) then they are not "doing very well." Furthermore, a cogent argument does not make a conclusion based on an if statement. You haven't defined quality and have not proven that it is in fact increasing, you're drawing a conclusion on an unproven premise. Not only that, but your conclusion doesn't even fit with your premise, because as I said before, increased quality != good business. Guess who makes more money, Fuddrucker's or McDonald's? (McDonald's).

If you bothered to read my post you would of noticed this statement
"not being able to afford games is only short-term as those you recieved less income in the year (edit:due to downswing) will eventually pick up but if price has decreased (edit: or stayed the same) in the long term that means in the long term the economy is doing really well"

Actually deflation is worse than inflation for an economy. That's why all good economy's products get more expensive over time. If America is doing well, then in 20 years you will be paying $2.00 for a coke. If our economy starts to fail, then you will be paying .50 cents.
The last part you posted assumed something I did not mean, so it needed no reply.

Go ask a game developer that i dont know any specifics christ! Its just obvious thats all, i mean just look at the development of games of the years from pac-man to i dont know bladurs gates there is no way in hell that creators of pac man in the 80s could of ever dreamt of making a game like baldurs gate without costing a huge (by huge i mean huge) amount of money but now thanks to technology it is now the norm, developers can use realistic prices for amazing quality.

I know and all i was saying is that it is quite probably that if price has increased it will be due to increases in quality and not due to a shitty economy (long term perspective)

Playstation is a fucking huge corporation, and i doubt i will have to show you their P&L statements or Balance sheets for you to believe this statement as it is so obvious.

But if McDonald's increased thier quality of burgers without increasing price thats good business! Its called increasing efficentcy which is what my argument is based around!

If you bothered to read my posts more carefully you will notice i said real prices! You are talking about nominal prices
      Does that answer everything?

Economic Note for the day: Decreasing nominal prices will hardly happen due to sticky prices (real wage rigidity).Sticky prices are cause by unions, efficiency wage arguments and minium wages.

Heh, you didn't address anything that I said. You didn't tell me what increases in technology made you assume cost of production is down. You talk about how "I know and all i was saying is that it is quite probably that if price has increased it will be due to increases in quality and not due to a shitty economy (long term perspective)", well this is irrelevant , because the original poster didn't blame the rising, or more accurately, static, cost of a video game on a bad economy.

You didn't show how quality and sales are linked. You merely pointed to playstation having a lot of money, and somehow it proves it because they make video games. Well, my hypothesis is that all me posting on the forums causes rain. I mean, the last TWO!! times I've posted it has started to rain immediately afterwards. I don't have to show any causal link because the evidence is all before you. If you don't follow "I think your(sic) either unwilling or just too stupid to understand i(sic) cant(sic) make it more simple than that!

"But if McDonald's increased thier quality of burgers without increasing price thats good business! Its called increasing efficentcy which is what my argument is based around!"

And my argument is that quality != good business. McDonald's will never increase the quality of their product, because they have hit their niche. They are the lowest common denominator, they are looking for ways to cut cost on production, so they can lower their prices even further.

You took my last quote out of context, I was referring to how you said that video game prices remaining in stasis is a sign of a good economy, when that is simply bunk. "If you bothered to read my posts more carefully" maybe you could come up with a response that actually answers my questions.

Fine increases in computer technology, electronics anything thats pretty much involved in making the console/game. Your an idiot any moron can see that there has been drastic increases in technology in this division its just obvious to see, i mean look at computers its the same princple hardly anyone could afford a computer in the 80s now everyone does and the computer is like 10 ten times better than that one in the 80s what do you think makes that possible just because im not a computer engineer you can still see the effects of technology when you plug in the computer.Same with the console

So if technology has increased but the real price is relatively the same that must mean quality has increased at the same rate of technology seriously a monkey could probably understand this better than you!

Im just providing a long term perspective, i already discussed this in my orignal post! Jesus is talking in a short term perspective- i already agreed with him on that im talking in a long term perspective (what the hell is wrong with you)

Obviously playstation are making large amounts of profits to make have all this money that they have.(your wasting my time)

i know what you are saying if price has decreased that means either people dont buy enough goods therefore AD has decreased which is a sign of a depression! or the supply of goods have increased which is what i was talking about- that is a sign of efficenty which is good!

That is it im sick of talking to you, you have no sense- this is my last post on the topic go away!

There have only been two good castlevania games in a very long series.

Edit: And if we're talking about creativity, SOTN wasn't that groundbreaking. It was good, but the basic gameplay idea was the same as metroid.

Enforcer you use the exclamation point too much at the end of your sentences.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

You still haven't explained the cruxt of your argument; how increasing quality automatically means increased profits. You still haven't gone through the technological leaps in the VIDEO GAME industry. And you still have no argument for "And my argument is that quality != good business. McDonald's will never increase the quality of their product, because they have hit their niche. They are the lowest common denominator, they are looking for ways to cut cost on production, so they can lower their prices even further."

I think you lost this argument
