wow i thought it was a great game (Portugal vs England)

I went to the pub with my friend to watch it, he was for England i was for Portugal -the bar itself was about 60% for England and 40% Portugal not sure if that was a coincidence to Belfast?s 60% protestant 40%catholic population. Anyway it lead to a great atmosphere with both sides being emphatically cheered and it accumulated in a penalty shoot out. The tension was immense and I thought in the end the better team went through, but I was biased.

I?m not surprised that English fans moaned so much though, the silly British press is up its own arse.

They ask Eriksson ?Can you remember an 18 year old making such an impact at a major tournament since Pele?? he answers ?no, not that I can think off? so the headlines are ?Sven compares Rooney to Pele!? what the fuck?? It was a completely weighted question? Then they hype it up that England will win the tournament.

The fact is England?s record sucks in the Euro tournament for such a big nation I think that was the first time they made it past the group stage in an away tournament. I don?t think England played to their strength either as they have 4 fantastic Attacking midfield players in Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes and Beckham yet when they went 1-0 up they play defensive early in the game. They made the mistake against France and you could feel Portugal?s goal coming when they did it there too. When it went to penalties it was ominous for England as quite frankly they suck at penalties which Beckham demonstrated, surprised Owen scored though he misses penalties a lot.

In the end it was all good for me
