    Doom 3

    HOLY SHIT.

    Doom 3 is absolutely awesome. It starts out kinda slow- doesn't through you right into the action like Doom or Doom II, but once it gets started it's mindblowing.

    You need to play this game in the dark. Actually, the game seems pretty damn dark so far. You need to use the in-game flashlight a lot to see. Makes it really awesome, and obviously sets up some good spots to scare the shit out of you.

    So far I've noticed that the enemies are a lot tougher than in the previous games. Takes about 5 handgun shots just to kill the weakest enemy.

    Anyway, the game rules. It's different than I expected, and doesn't really 'feel' like a DOOM game so far, but it's still great.

      Doom 3 on Xbox is pretty good also. I went to an EG convention here in Phoenix and somehow was lucky enough to get on it and play for a little while....couldn't really get the whole dark and gloomy affect considering where I was but the graphics are amazing..only game i'm looking to see top it is Halo 2. :up:

      P.S. If you like realistic sports games go pick up ESPN 2k5 on Xbox..its only $20 and its worth every dollar and more...I think Madden finally has some serious competition this year.

        My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing.           It starts kinda samelike than half-life did actually.

          I first played it last night and sure it was scary, but you usually know that something will happen when you open next door...

          I died first time when all lights went out and 2 monsters came at me on small room and I couldnt switch my flashlight and gun fast enought, so I couldnt even see what was hitting me, that was somewhat poor feeling

          I dont like the cave feeling so much, would like to see more open areas, prolly comes after gettin out from Mars...

          Have to test it out more, it runs on my 1800+ Xp, Gforce3 ti200, 512 sdram ..on 1024x786 resolutions, well not so damn good but it can be still played.

                        I agree with what Preda said. How dumb is it that you can't use a flashlight at at least a pistol at the same time? And the fact that it's so dark all the time sucks. The atmosphere is nice, and so are the graphics. I just don't like games with this kinda trapped feeling. You run in these small corridors so much! I wonder how well the graphics engine would do in outside areas.

                        I thought it would take a tougher computer to run it. Runs fine at 1280x1024, high quality on my comp (with 2x AA). I'm personally waiting for Half Life 2 a lot more.

                              I had a spasm near the beginning when you're in the dark and the platform above you collapses and the barrels and stuff fall off.
