alaska looks awesome. I think it's the only place in the US that I want to go to that I haven't seen yet. I think next spring I might take one of those alaskan cruises. If I could get the time off, I'd love to make the drive, but I don't think that'll happen any time soon.

Seems like a good option for you jason, probably one of the best drives in north america, but make sure your bus is reliable (or skip the bus and get something reliable).

South dakota is pretty cool to drive through, especially if you take a detour through the badlands (we had to wait 5 minutes for a giant mean looking buffalo to step out of our way at one point, I was pretty scared because he didn't look cute and fuzzy like the ones at yellowstone, he looked like a real mean motherfucker and he probably coulda rolled our car if he wanted to).

Alaska is awesome! The Alaska cruises is one thing I forgot to mention.. You should come up here :P ...Me, my dad, brother, sister drove up here from North Carolina... Stopping in Virginia, Ohio, Minnesota, South dakota, Montana, Edmonton mall in Canada, some other places in Canada... and now here.. fun stuff. We went through the badlands too... really dry but it was cool even though some scenery didnt change for 20-30 minutes... we ran into (not literally) a pack of buffalo (like 20) in the middle of the road those things dont like when you drive close to them. I only saw one (black) bear coming up here... In Canada... I can wait for me to not see one anytime soon. Good spot to be... Thanks for responding so positively BZ... Jason Alaska is a good place.

The black hills of south dakota is one of my favorite places I've ever been. It's like a much calmer/condensed/less busy version of the rocky mountains.

I'm not going to advertise where I live because...well, because I live in Kansas. I do live in a really badass college town though (Manhattan) so it's not all a bust. Plus, it's pretty scenic around here - lots of rolling hills/trees/rivers/etc. Peoples' typical view of Kansas is definately not represented where I live.

Holy Shit... My sister lives there with her bf.. Manhattan, Kansas? eh... She lives in Wichita, Kansas ... That psycho killer is there... geez. Very scenic state.
