no I didn't
bump
PC version is out, what do you guys think?
I find that "bigger is better" isn't that true. Sure, the place is bigger, but the quality isn't as good as in Vice City. So I reinstalled Vice City and yes, it seemed small now.
Maybe San Andreas has gone a little too far though, they have put quantity over quality. Some places on the map are straight out horrible, like the hills in Vinewood. The road is so steep in some places that some cars can't even go up the hill!
Other than that, good game but a little short. Didn't take more than a week of playing to finish it, playing a few hours per day.5: Da1andonly> !ban epinephrine

The only beef I have with San Andreas is the Freeways. For some reason, maybe it was intended but cars are wrecking on the freeways every time I turn around. One bumps another and then it it turns into a big fucking pileup. Seeing as how the Freeway is literally sometimes the best option from getting place to place, that tends to annoy me."Sexy" Steve Mijalis-Gilster, IVX

I have it on ps2, but I haven't got it for PC yet. I am not sure if I will, just because I don't have a lot of discretionary income.
Personally, I like the size of SA. I think it's the perfect size. It's so big that it really achieves the whole "omg, this map is huge" factor, but not so big that you get really annoyed that it takes a really long time to get from one end to the other. The storyline kind of makes you focus on one city at a time, for the most part, so you really don't have a lot of annoying pointless travel to deal with.
My biggest problem with SA is the AI for the cars is kind of fucked up. Like, when you're driving down the main strip in Las Venturas, cars in the left lane will cross in front of you and you will always smash into one. The problem is the lazy ass programmers didn't give the cars in the far lane a different set of driving definitions than the ones in the turning lanes. It looks like the lanes have the same set of rules to follow. So a car is just as likely to make a right hand turn in the left lane than the right.
Anyway, I love the game. It's a huge, huge improvement from VC or GTA3. Hopefully, the size of the PS3 will let Rockstar improve the draw-distances and the memory problem. Also, it's way choppy when you're driving at high speeds. Those are the only major problems I had with the console version.

I don't have a PS2 or any of the console nonsense, and I've been a longtime fan of the GTA series for PC, so I waited, and specifically avoided knowing anything about it until it came out on PC.

Yeah bilbo, it doesn't have at all as much replay calue as the two other 3d GTA:s. I haven't been able to decide if it's because being a taxi driver/ambulance chaffeur/fireman just isn't fun any more the third time, or if the quality of the subgames is just worse.5: Da1andonly> !ban epinephrine
