As of 6:14 AM this morning, (I was there at 5:45 AM, polls opened at 6 AM in my state, and I was still 15th in line) I voted a straight Democrat Ticket in my state of Kentucky. John Kerry for President, Mongiardo for Senator, Clooney for Representative, Stumbo for Supreme Court Judge, and Webb for the other Judge thing. Also I voted No on Prop 2 which asked if I wanted to amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage.

I'm in NY so I don't know. I might go vote Kerry, but I'm busy with a CS project and a midterm soo eh we'll see. He's going to win NY anyway. If he doesn't feel free to blame me. I should have registered in Pennsylvania, oh well.

This morning, my mother voted a straight Democrat ticket, mostly because she didn't know anything about any of the races other than the one for President, but wasn't about to vote for a Republican anytime soon.

No real trouble, since we're in New Jersey and not Florida, Ohio, or South Dakota (???).

Cops, things ain't going to turn out like that unless a lot of things swing Kerry's way.

This morning in the Netherlands, Theo van Gogh has been murdered in the Netherlands, Probably for speaking his mind when it comes to Islam etc, not sure yet. Anyways my point is, the tv has been all over this and so we will probably hear something about America in the news of 8 o'clock, but it wont be much because today will mainly be all Van Gogh on the tv/radio, so I wont know jack until tommorow or so.

From what I heard he first got stabbed 2 times and then he got shot 6 times from close range.
He was some director, writer and whatelse. It might have to do with him making a documentary about the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn who got shot too.

The one thing I don't get is that you have to register every 4 years. In Canada once registered you stay that way until you die. If for some reason you aren't registered you can vote with proof of i.d. and you sign this little waiver saying you haven't voted in this election yet. Now i know America is a way bigger scheme and the i.d. thing probably is a bad idea -- but registering every 4 years makes no sense to me, can't they just store it somewhere?

I wasn't trying to say that it was the way things are going to turn out, I think my previous comment spoke for itself 'This will be solved in court and not left up to the voters'.

Bush failed doing his job and bringing everyone responsible for 911 to justice. It may start with your fists but it must end with your mind.

In America, as far as I know, u only need to register once...but im young so could be wrong. if they require u to re-register every 4 years that is probably a safeguard from someone pretending to be a dead guy and vote as him/her. But yeah, simplest thing to do imo is have someone assigned a distinct number (did i hear social security), and delete that number whenever someone dies. that and a photo ID would make cheating close to flawless.

i think our electoral laws should be rewritten to make the number of electoral votes each candicate gets proportional to the way people voted. say for example (with ficticious number) that new york has 100 electoral votes to give, and bush wins 40%, kerry wins 59%, and nader wins 1%...so just give 40 electoral votes to bush and so on. the winner of the state gets the remainder as there is always a remainder.

i voted democrat all the way too......i predict kerry winning by a good margin, say 55% to bush's 45%. i say this because, i like the phrase some guy on cnn used, democrats are lazy and dont participate in polls as much as republicans who are working machines which is a factor as to why most repblicans are rich, but these lazy democrats will vote in real election because next sentence. also people who support kerry will be more inclined to vote this time because it is widely accepted this is a very important race. and those that support bush might just let fate deal them the losing hand because they see how much the world is venemently against bush.

but a reason for bush being close in race also has to do with the fact that americans, during wartime, do not like changing presidents, because they feel they need to stay the course no matter how badly that course started. plus americans really do believe bush is fighting terrorism very well at least.

but im voting for kerry for all other reasons not associated with war on terror, and also because he knows we have an obligation to finish what bush started...and new leadership might just make this war much more effective, and in worst case, just 'slightly' worse then bush....shiet i ramble too much.

So far ive seen bush up 1% in Ohio, up 1% in Florida up .3% in Iowa and down 1.5% in PA

I saw others but those are what came to mind.

                              BUSH FOR PRESIDENT
