Am I the only one who thinks Hasek is a hasbeen who will probablly get injured in the first 2 weeks of the season (whenever that is)

Not trying to start anything with you Volcs but I thought the same of him when he was on the Red Wings.

    In closing: Leafs > Sens

Then start a new thread, Tyson. It's just a huge lack of class when you highjack a thread like this, and Sens bashing deserves a whole thread of its own.

You are claiming to have balls, yet I think this guy has balls running in downtown toronto during playoffs with a big flag of the "enemies" team. And I don't know what happened to that guy, but from this I gather he got beat up or something, its not really having balls to beat up 1 person just because he shows he is a fan of a different team then yours.

I wouldn't even be talking if I were you, Senators fans show up in tens to the ACC, we show up in thousands at the Corel Center. What does this tell you? We own you on your turf, as a matter of fact we probably help you sell tickets hehe if it were not for us you guys would be half empty. So what's here to discuss? All you are doing is telling me how you guys were stronger but the fact is you lost, and not just once but several times and not just during the season but in the playoffs. We should do something positive and return the hockey team Winnipieg instead of allowing Ottawa to keep theirs. Difference between Leaf Fans and Senator Fans you aks? We have balls, haven't you seen what happened to that guy who ran out in the middle of downtown Toronto with a Senators flag during playoffs? You said it yourself in you arena Leaf Fans chant YOU SUCK and you guys just stand there and say "no we don't <_< "
I don't even know where I am going with this, but the point is Leafs won, we raped Sens, you guys cried and fired your coach and we laughed. GG, do something positive and give the team to Winnipeg. Or you can declare yourself an independent country, kinda like the Vatican State or San Marino, keep the junk away.
Apparently we have different views on humiliation.
In a series winning 3 losing 4, not humiliating, just disappointing.
In regular season tying the leafs, not humiliating, just disappointing.
So to be honest, the sens and leafs were at about the same level. The sens couldnt stop goals and the leafs couldnt get them. Left the 2 teams about equal.. now.. what have the leafs done to up the goal scoring?
The way I see it, the leafs bad offense is now gonna have to not only get through Redden and Chara, but Hasek too.

I'd think that the leafs players even admitting they didn't deserve to win is pretty humiliating though.
And leafs pay 300 bucks to bus down and watch a game at the corel center, which is 150 bucks less than it costs to watch it at the ACC.. no wonder so many come from toronto. If it were the other way around and the corel center seats costed an insane amount, we'd be busing down in fleets. It's just not the way it works.
We stand there and cheer for our team, you've obviously never been to the corel center. It's more of a positive attitude. And ummm.. last playoff game I saw two guys got in a fight in the 300s and both got kicked out, we stand there and say "no we don't"?
And you didnt rape us, but philly definitely raped you! LOL!
And yes, we fired our coach, once again it really shows that you didn't follow the series. Martin fucked up. He played a terrible lineup on more than one occasion, and dressed Bonk for every game. With the amazing players the sens have, we shouldnt have been out first round, so yes a coach replacement was in order.

I really cannot wait until next season. We could play our 4th string players and with a good goalie, would be on the same level as the leafs

Hahaha.. I agree completely. And I'm going to make a trip up to T.O. if the sens see the leafs next playoffs.. and I will stand there and cheer for MY team and ignore all of the assholes like you.

If the sens fans couldn't sell out the corel center on their own I'd actually support toronto fans coming to Ottawa and donating their money to a worthy cause.. but we can and it's terribly frustrating.

As for Hasek, anything's better than Lalime. And there is some good incentive for him to play well. He's signed for 2 million (I believe) with a 6 million dollar bonus if the sens get the cup.

Now Tyson, who do you see taking the cup next season? The Leafs, or the Sens.

Assuming the sens don't see the leafs, I'm confident that they could take the cup easily. The sens may never slay the dragon in playoffs, no matter how much better they are..

Even if the leafs don't see philly, they wouldn't be able to get the cup.

I love it when Hasek saves/misses a shot and he falls on the ground flat.

                Funniest thing:

I saw Hasek save a shot, he fell on the floor flat, but he didn't have it. It was behind him, bounced off the wall, hit his skate and went into the net. Funny.

I have a feeling Tyson doesn't have the attention span to read either of my above posts, so to conclude: The Leafs haven't raped the senators since they were the underdog. We lost 4-3 in playoffs, that isn't humiliating, and the sens and leafs beat eachother just as many times in regular season.
You clearly don't have a clue what you're talking about, especially since you were under the impression that Lalime is a good goalie. Would you ever trade Belfour for Lalime? didn't think so.

No, actually, the Leafs won the season series 4-1-1, with one of those wins in OT. The lone Ottawa victory featured the infamous incident of Alfredsson mocking Sundin's stick throwing suspension. True, it was a 7-1 rout, but missing from the Leafs line-up for that game were Sundin, Belfour, Nolan, Mogilny and Kaberle, a loss equivalent to playing without Alfredsson, Lalime (or Hasek, if you're going for this season's roster. He's a better comparison anyway), Smolinsky, Bondra and Chris Phillips. Despite the 7-1 loss, the Leafs still outscored Ottawa 21-15 in the season series. Take away that one game and Toronto outscored Ottawa 20-8.

I was at the game in Ottawa where Ottawa was up 4-0 after the first... then the leafs won it 5-4 in OT. What a great game. Greatest comeback I've ever seen in a single hockey game. GO LEAFS GO.

There was a game where the leafs had few of their good players, but there was also a game where every single sens player had the flu. There were 5 people on the bench by the end of the game. Players were running to buckets to puke as soon as they got off the ice and during intermissions some players had to be on IVs because they were so dehydrated. I think we lost that game 6-0 or something. Take away that game instead, and the scoring would have been equal

Now what do you mean the season series? Anything but playoffs??
If so: Aside from the playoffs, the leafs and sens played 8 times. Sens won 4, Leafs won 3 and there was 1 tie.

No, that was the 5-4 game that Epi mentioned. And still, if you take out both those games, then the Leafs still outscored the Sens 15 to 4.

The Leafs only played the Sens 6 times in the regular season plus 7 times in the playoffs with the Leafs having a 8-4-1 record. The "extra" games you counted to make the total 8 (actually, the total should be 9) were PRE-SEASON games.

First you discount the playoff games to shout the glory of the Sens' regular season games, (games which mattered less than playoff games) and when told the Leafs won the regular season matchup you resort to including PRE-season games which mean absolutely nothing at all?

Since you provided the link, let's refer to that, shall we? The first section (in yellow) were the playoff games, and we both agree the Leafs won that 4-3. The next section, labelled September, has games numbered P1 to P9. The P stands for Pre-season, as in exhibition games, games where the teams tinkered with lines and prospects.

The first regular season game between the two was November 29 which the Leafs won 2-1. After that was the 7-1 Sens win on January 8. Game 3 was a few weeks later on January 31 whcih the Leafs won 5-1. The week after was the 5-4 Leafs victory with the stomach flu. Game 5 was a 2-2 tie on March 27, and game 6 was the regular season final which the Leafs won 6-0.

That's 4-1-1-0 for the Leafs and 1-3-1-1 for the Senators. If you include the playoffs, that would be 8-4-1-0 for Toronto and 4-7-1-1 for the Sens, and even if you were to include the three preseason games, which the Sens admitedly swept, the record would still be 8-7-1-0 for the Leafs and 7-8-1-1 for the Sens, with the Leafs STILL holding the winning record.

If you really want to resort to including pre-season games to support your team then you are really desperate. The bottom line is that in the games that mattered, the Sens lose. Go ahead and bask in their 3-0 pre-season record versus the Leafs though. Every cloud needs a silver lining, even if it's really just tin foil.

Fine, the leafs did better than the sens in the season and in playoffs.
Can we now rate overall aspects?
                                Who had better forwards? -Sens
                                Who had better defense? -Sens
Who had a better goalie? -Leafs

This year, we have a goalie that can actually stop pucks. (I can recall more than one occasion where a puck came at Lalime disgustingly slowly and he did all but actually put it in the net, though he may aswell have.)

Next season, if the leafs do better than the sens, I will shut my fat mouth. Until then, I stand by my saying that overall the sens are a better team (I would NOT have said that two years ago as they weren't. They are now and SHOULD have won the series. Belfour amazed me and I hate him for it. If Belfour wasn't playing amazingly in any of those games, the sens would have raped. I can recall ONE game that series that the sens didn't deserve to win, and one that they should have played better in but still outplayed the leafs. He should have gotten the Vazina (sp?) trophy for that performance alone).

The sens had a better offense and defense, the leafs had a better goalie and a major mental advantage.
                                We will see.
