  • Capacity to cheat

Do you think that only some people are cheaters, or do all of us have the capacity to cheat? How much of temptation can most people take, IYO? Have you ever cheated, and have you even been cheated on?

I was just wondering what some of you think on these questions. I wonder sometimes, how many people are willing to put their relationship/potential drama at stake for some forbidden nookie. Of course, the relationship must not be a big factor if they are cheating but...I wonder...can someone be in a "good" relationship and still want to cheat?
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

lol I almost though you were talking about cheating in subspace. But the people that play this game don't get laid, so I figure that you are asking the wrong gang of losers.

I don't cheat in relationships, but in school, or work, I don't really have a conflict with cheating.

But things like these are always in shades of grey. Cheating in school isn't always the best idea, because you're really short changing your own growth. But if it came down to needing to pass a test or failing the class or something, I'm all good with cheating, since that's in your own best interest to pass the class, and there's really no victim.

no ewan you are the only person dumb enough to talk about it instead of ignore it like the rest of us

cheating is always wrong, never a shade of anything. You find a way to rationalize it, so it seems like it becomes a shade of gray. The real question is why didn't you prepare yourself for something to be able to pass it? Basically most cheaters are too lazy to put the work into it to earn their way.

That's what I'm talking about. If cheating is never in a shade of grey, why did you bother to clarify your statement by saying "most cheaters are too lazy", instead of they "all are too lazy" to prepare? Some students have money, and don't have to work for a living. If you're busting your ass 20-45 hours a week at work to support yourself, or your family, and your work schedule interfered with your study schedule, then it's not a question of laziness is it? And god forbid it's during finals week, or midterms. Some people have poor health, some have family conflicts, some people aren't blessed by wealth...there are shades of fucking grey.

We live in a society of cheaters. To resign yourself into a false sense of morality by pledging not to cheat is only handicapping yourself on an unfair playing field.

I cheat on tests...But then I compensate for letting others cheat off me. I have been cheating for 7 years and I have never been caught.

                          it's not cheating,
                          it is involuntary cooperative learning

                          except in my case,
                          because it's voluntary,
                          like i study one section,
                          and my friends the others,
                          and then complete our tests,
                          and compare answers

it's like hitting a brick wall with some of you.

                            cheating= always wrong
the rationale for cheating is different. a majority of times it is laziness. other times people rationalize it with other reasons.

you are saying it's ok to do something because your life is tough? Oh your dad didn't buy you a new hummer? sure then it must be ok to rape children.
oh you don't have a new tv? sure it's ok to murder the elderly. you don't have a xbox? go ahead, rob bank. it is just a shade of gray...
