yeah, im just saying for me personally, i won't be far away from my computer long enough to have to carry ALL my songs with me. if i have an urge for a certain song, i'll put it in my playlist the next time. and i just don't like the design and the controls. it's just not for me. but i see it's for many others. nyeh.

also- i like being unique and standing out from others. i dont want to buy an ipod for the same reason i don't want to drive a toyota camry or honda accord.

I don't have a use for an iPod. If I'm listening to music, I'm probably either home or in the car. At home I have all my CDs and my 650-ish MP3 collection. In the car I have all my CDs and a nice system, so I don't see the point for one. It's a few hundred dollars I could find better ways to spend.

I bought this 20gb photo iPod with the Bose docking system and the radio add-on. Pretty sweet all together.

Although it really sucks to rename the info of the *cough* bought *cough* single-artist-hits-mp3's (i mean in properties, the genre type, bandname, etc). When done, it's great tho.

I don't get the photo thing tho. Maybe it's because it was way to late last night, but somehow it only uploads 1 directory deep for pictures. Anything deeper than that will be all put together in one, huge, general map. It doesn't order it by name either.

Tone, I don't agree with you on buying a huge headset, and therefor carry this mass thing on your head. The mini earplugs deliver great sound.

I also agree with Absent Elements; it's useless on work, at home, in the car (although the radio add-on is pretty cool). But it's perfect if you lay on the beach alot, etc)

All in all, i think it's great. Especially the docking system is great.

Well, first of all definitely ditch the iPod earphones. For about $10 you can buy Sennheiser MX 400 earphones which are generally regarded to be much better, even if not great (from an overall perspective). As far as over-the-ear goes, Koss KSC 75s is usually much recommended for $15 or so. There are various in-the-ear (ear canal) earphones, which start at like $50, but are very good.

Now, I realize that not everyone wants to buy a portable mp3 player (which, IMHO shouldn't be an iPod unless you're set on carrying your entire life collection of music around, but meh) just so that they can carry a humongous headset around with them, however, there are alot of portable headphones that are much better than the $2 or so earphones that come with an iPod, and if you are going to spend $300 for a mp3 player you might as well spend $10 for earbuds to go with it.

And yah indeed, SEAL... took me 2 days (full-time) to rename all my music files and to add the Genre/Artist/Album/....
But when it's done it's cool, and now when I get new songs it's done in 2 sec.

Edit: SEAL you're a millionaire !? :P I'd love to have the Bose dock .. but it's like .. 300 euro .. prolly even more !

The sound quality remains mp3, regardless whether you put 1000$ headset around your neck. This basicly limits it, and you have to remember that. I really think the earphones are giving good quality. Perhaps i am 'sound dislectic'. Plus, from what i heard, the earphones get good reviews everywhere.

K2, don't you like the idea of having all your music in your pocket. Why would you want to change (read: waste time and effort) music if you can store it all at once. Or is it the weight of the iPod? I agree, i wouldn't put it in my jacket either, i just love it at the beach.

I think, if you want to buy better earplugs you should buy noticable better ones. Not 'a little better' like a 10$ earphone.

I do get interested in getting better earplugs though, what are absolute good earplug brands (little ones, not the ones you put over your head), despide their price???? Or does anyone know good websites wich give information? I can't find any weird enough.

I'm agreein' with k2 here on the fact the ipod headphones suck. I broke my left headphone by sleeping with them on, I haven't sent in to get them repaired or get new ones or whatever yet though. The premium ipod headphones are really good though. I'm goin' on a trip sometime soon, does anyone know of any other way to charge your ipod other than through a computer?
