Whats the point of that? He's just going to say he loves it and he wants to have intercourse with Rivers Cuomo. Here's a couple of opinions from some music forums I read:

Well, the album was a complete dissapointment in my eyes. I myself am a big Weezer fan and i didnt find really anything amazing on this album. All the pop elements that made weezer so unique, and gave them their style, are gone. There is not one good pop song on this album. All i heard was a bunch of emo style rock. This is the sole reason i didnt like this album. It is to **** emo. Errrr makes me so mad, i love all their great pop songs like "Buddy Holly" and "Keep Fishin". There are almost no good melodies sung. In my opinion, it is my least favorite album. I just wish they could have stuck to their original style. All in all, i still enjoyed listening to the album. Basically, if youre a weezer fan, you'll probably like it. If youre not a weezer fam, you'll probably dislike it. I give it a 6.5 / 10.

I'm a huge Weezer fan, with their first two albums being desert island choices, but the new album is garbage. The second track is the only one that didn't disappoint me. His voice has gotten wimper with each album, and his lyrics are certainly not what one would expect from anyone who spent any time in an ivy league English program. "We Are All On Drugs" is laughable, if only because Rivers insinuates that high-school-aged drug users drive Benzes. It's fine that he uses almost nothing but rhyming couplets, but they don't have to be so childish and half-hearted. After all of the hype surrounding this release, I was expecting them to make up for the last two albums. They didn't. The Rolling Stone, the AP, and most anyone else that marks this as a return to form or anything above mediocre is lying; Pitchfork's review is overly harsh but at least they are closest to hitting the mark on what a disappointment the album is.

Well I've heard Weezer's new album in its entirety at least 5 times now, though I haven't actually bought it yet. It's pretty terrible I must admit. There are maybe 4 good songs on it and that'd be okay if the other songs were just mediocre, but the rest is complete, well, shit. People who write songs like "My Best Friend", "Beverly Hills" and "This Is Such A Pity" should be slapped, I don't care who they are. The whole album sounds as if Weezer wasn't even trying. What the hell have they been doing for the past 3 years??? Apparently River's has many, many more songs that he wrote in that time and he just picked the best songs to release on this album. So if these are the good songs, the others must be bad in a whole new sense of the word. I give the album a 4/10. I did however, see them live last week, they were awesome. They played 6 new songs, luckily 3 of them were good and the other 3 I'll forgive them for. But this album is unforgivable.

IMO, after hearing it two times trough, is that it's like Green but more poppy.

I haven't decided if that's good or bad yet, but "we are all on drugs | never getting enough | we are all on drugs | gimme some of that stuff" doesn't sound very convincing when coming from a 37-yearold harvard nerd.

I'm not blind, it is easy to see their bad albums Zeus.

Truthfully, I am somewhat disappointed in this one. They had a full arsenal of songs to play around with (in all around 50 were recorded). And they somehow managed to pick around 8 of the lamest songs I could think of.

Beverly Hils is lackluster at best. Catchy?, yes. Horribly written?, yes.

Perfect Situation is mediocre, and lacks any true substantial Weezer qualities. It's a rock song, and that's about it.

This is Such a Pity is a crappy attempt at a Killers-esque 80's revival synth/rock/bullshit. I like some of the Killers stuff, but truthfully, Rivers Cuomo is not the kind of guy that should be singing this song.

Hold Me is a straight up Nirvana rape from 2002. It is an older Rivers Cuomo song, one that enjoyed acoustic. If Rape Me and Dumb had a baby, this would be it.

Peace is another 2002 song that I enjoyed alot acoustic. I think this is one of the better songs on the album, but it is missing something that I can't put my finger on at the moment.

We are All on Drugs is a "Diarrea" clone (When you're sitting on a wall, and you feel something fall... you know the rest.) This song is stuck in my head and will do very well on the charts.

The Damage in Your Heart is a crappy popish/punkish/Weezer song. Its mediocre as well.

Pardon Me is the first true Weezer-esque tune on this disc. It has good lyrics, great guitar, and some killer vocals.

My Best Friend is a Queen ripoff and has some of the worst lyrics Rivers Cuomo has ever written, aside from Dope Nose. "I feel happy inside when I see your face"? Come ON!

The Other Way is another classic Weezer song. It starts out with acoustic and keyboard and Rivers bears his soul as the guitar builds. My favorite track on the album.

Freak Me Out is reportedly about spiders. It is a nice little tune, but nothing to shit yourself over.

Haunt You Every Day. Remember that song "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson? Yeah, think that but suckier.

Overall, there were some good tracks, but not enough to be a decent album. Definately Weezer's worst attempt at regaining what they lost. 5.5/10

yea, but at least I'll admit that my band is just another lame copy of the popular style out right now.

While as you run around the forums claiming Weezer had the largest impact on emo music in the last 10 years, which we both know is not true.

Academicly people try to justify originaility, pionerring, or copying for reasons for hating or liking a band, but in reality you listen to what sounds good to you. To do otherwise is just to be a modern day king with invisible clothes. For example, I think Hawthrone heights is terrible. Not becuase of they're just another emo band with screaming, but becuase they hurt my ears. When people attach themselves to unconditional love or hatred for a band or genre, musicans are able to ride on coat tails and pass off "Obscured by Clouds" as good. Save who pioneered what for trivial pursuit.

They did. Have you listened to Pinkerton? Any emo album is a straight up RAPE of that album.

                            Oh goodness no.

It's a catchy song, its just lyrically one of his poorest songs.

It has a certain something, much like Hash Pipe did.

yea.....no. That my good sir is false.

Weezer did not invent the modern day emo, get over it.

And Benno, I agree with you 100%. That's why I like TBS, despite the fact that they are just another Carbon Copy of the popular rock out today.
