However, when pressed, the reps also noted that further plans for content based on FFVII haven't been set, per se. They affirmed that the resulting reaction from fans over the demo footage and the content related to FFVII shown at the party has been overwhelmingly positive. As a result, provided fan reaction continues to be feverishly positive over the demo, and the very notion of a FFVII remake is certainly something Square Enix would bear in mind when planning future projects.

Does this mean it's on? Probably not at this exact moment, but at this point, we're willing to bet it's not a matter of if an FFVII remake will happen, but when.

It seems like the fan reaction is slowly but surely just chipping away at SquareEnix and it seems like an FFVII remake seems to be even more and more likely as the months progress.

If anyone looks back to the Unreal Engine 3 "Tech demo" - they said it was just a tech demo, but it was just an early build of Gears of War for the XBOX360, so you just never know.

The tech demo was nice, but I assumed it was just that, a tech demo. I'm not going to get my hopes up to have them let down, although it would be pretty sweet.

Man I wish they would worry about making new FF's instead of creating sequels and remakes. Sure, some of you would enjoy FF7 with better graphics, but I really just want some new storylines and battle systems. Hell I want FFXII to come out already.

Final Fantasy VII had its day ages ago, great game at the time, but i think it may be time to lay it to rest

Imho Final fantasy 7 was and is the best game of all time.
I think it would be even more amazing to play it on the PS3 which would further enhance its graphics ^-^

i agree, FF8 was my fave in the series

Yeah, too bad it was all pre-rendered...

I felt that FF9 was the weakest out of the series, in my opinion. And if they were gonna go make a graphical remake to an FF, I would like to see it of FF6 all in 3D, even tho it'll be the 14th redo of it.

My personal order for the playstration era of final fantasies goes - 7,8,10,10-2,9.
Ive only ever played 1-6 on emulators on my PC, so i never really took them as serious.
oh and Materia was so much better than 'guardian forces' :grin:

Materia was my favourite system. I thought the Job system was alright, my least favourite being the stock system from FF8 for gathering magic.
