The cop could've been a little more patient, and is in fact obligated to give his name, show identification, and his badge number when asked. Not some bullshit nonsense about "oh I'll be in court."

The lady had an attitude and did not comply with orders put to her while under arrest. I've seen the video before and I believe she did sue for police brutality.

FYI, never ask for the cop's name or say anything out of the ordinary if you intend to go to court to challenge the violation. Anytime a cop is asked that question they know for sure to show up to court. It's common sense, but people rarely do it.

I couldn't tell from the video if she was trying to hit the cop or not but I think they were justified. She refused to get out of the car and was a bitch from the start. It might hurt like hell but it's better then the cops forcing her out or shooting her.

I don't think it was a matter of patience with the zapping, she was placed under arrest and she allegedly tried to strike the officer (that approached from the passenger side) when he attempted to take her phone out of her hand.

Like Kolar said, tazing her was probably a "safer" option (from a legal/safety standpoint) because if he tried to remove her by physically overpowering her, she might have gotten more badly injured, or if he had tried pepper spray, he might have incapacitated himself or his partner in the process.
