in state college gases were 2.49 on tuesday, 2.79 yesterday, and 2.99 today. Its even scarier just to imagine the prices in the city (which were already 2.69 - 3.09 in philly before the hurricane)

Gas prices were 94.1 earlier this week, yesterday were 103.5 and today ranging from 113.6 to 126.9
by the way thats per liter.

the petroleum reserve isn't meant to ease prices but its supposed to be used if there's a emergency if somehow all supplies of crude just got cut off. There is enough in the reserve to supply current gasoline use rates in the US for 90 days.

It could be even more fucked up if the reserve was used up, and then this happened (which is more likely now because of the conditions overseas) which means that there will be no time for adjustments and since people in america rely so heavily on cars, it could get really ugly.
