    I'm surprised no one has talked about it thusfar...

    What are your views on the riots in France?

    They are pretty violent, and it's kinda scary.

      I was listening to NPR last night as I was driving home--they were speaking to some French government official. It was interesting to hear him denounce all (and I do mean all) of the rioters as "thugs and drug-dealers". When the moderator suggested it might be because of the large class divide and unemployment rate, the guy snapped back "But some of the kids who are arrested are 12 and 13 years of age? You're telling me this is about employment?"

      This made me laugh, because by his own classification, those same 12 and 13 year olds would be slanging crack on street corners. Somehow I doubt that.
      Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

            Another French Revolution? Things aren't quite that bad yet. Isn't the conflict here racial diversity in the suburbs?

                It's been all over the news here but I still don't have any idea why they're burning cars and running around and stuff. Maybe I should listen more closely.
