I'm not discounting the idea that bombs were placed at the base... but in my mind, it is feasable that a reaction force could be transmitted through the rigid body of the tower. Forces can be transmitted through rigid bodies very quickly... quick enough to call it 'instantaneous', although its limited by c.
Once again, I believe it was shown that the type of aircraft that hit the WTC was not the type of aircraft that the WTC was 'designed' to be hit by.
One of your points seems to be in proving that the officially accepted version of the WTC collapse is wrong, you prove your position right. This is quite silly...a false dilemma indeed. (For anyone following the ID vs evolution debate in america and also, it seems, in some parts of australia, some ID advocates seem to be of the opinion that proving evolution wrong makes them right by default. Yeah, right.)
In my mind, at least, you have thrown doubt on the supposed reasons for the collapse of the WTC. But that doesn't mean that I believe it was part of some deeper conspiracy.
I just don't believe that what the public saw was all there was to it.

We already proved to him in the other thread that the steel beams could have been melted or at least been weakened by up to and beyond 50-75% strength. At that point all it took was one level to fall into the other which every structural engineer not looking to make a quick buck on the next 50 "9-11: You're wrong and I'm right, STFU" will tell you.

Aaron Swirski, one of the architects of the World Trade Center, talks exclusively to Jerusalem Post Radio on the World Trade Center collapse. He says they designed the towers to withstand something like a plane flying into the side.

DETROIT, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Lee Robertson, the project's structural engineer, addressed the problem of terrorism on high-rises at a conference in Frankfurt, Germany, LAST WEEK (!!!), Chicago engineer Joseph Burns told the Chicago Tribune. Burns said Robertson told the conference, "I designed it for a (Boeing)707 to hit it."

The Titanic used some of the most advanced technology available at the time and was popularly believed to be "unsinkable". It came as a great shock to many people that despite the advanced technology and experienced crew, the Titanic still sank with a great loss of life.

In terms of engineering, T0NE, there are two worlds here. The world of the Ideal, and the world of the Real. Ideally, the WTC could withstand a plane hit. Realistically, something somewhere happened that, coupled with something else and so on, led to the collapse. Or maybe it wasn't able to withstand a plane hit in the first place - did they ever test it?

Lets apply a little logic here.

Of the 4 planes involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks 2 were Boeing 767 Models 200ER.

Each Boeing 767-200ER has a fuel cap of 23,980 U.S. gal.

The 707 fuel cap: 15,000 U.S. gallons.

Being that the first Boeing 767, flight 11, was a local North American charter jumbo jet it's it then logical to assume the airliner was not burning off a majority of its fuel. We can also assume the terrorist decided to use these specific planes because of that fact and because international flights are more readily screened.

Planning to be hit by a 707 (which is twice as small for volume as the 767, carries less fuel, has less floor space and is generally less heavier and can not carry a bigger pay load then the 767) is one thing... making the structure stable enough to absorb the impact but other factors not taken into account like having highly efficent jet fuel burning at 1800°F+ and the massive amounts of materials inside the two towers to fuel the fires further. There is also no evidence that any fuel escaped or wasn't deposited into the towers so don't use that argument unless it's based on fact.
Think about the era, in 1970 707s were the top of the line jumbo jets in service, they would build to protect against whatever there currently is.
