How many good games came out on xbox? How many xbox-exclusive games do you count as good? ps2's library is ridiculous in terms of quantity, not quality so I'm willing to bet there are a larger number of good games in that console simply because there are more to choose from.

Regardless, like you said the best thing to do is to wait and see.

I'm betting PS3 will win the next gen console war in the long run, but I'm not so sure when it comes to the next year or two. A $600 US price tag could certainly be enough to push a lot of casual gamers to a 360 or this Wii thing. I don't think that anyone doubts Sony's ability to produce the largest selection of quality titles, but it will probably come down to whether Nintendo or Microsoft can release at least 3-4 "must have" games soon.

I haven't even bought my 360 yet, me and half the rest of the gaming comunity are getting one the day Halo 3 comes out.

I heard some rumour that they're gonna release Halo 3 the same day they release the PS3 too?
If that's true, PS3 isn't gonna do as well as they're anticipating... The only thing they got going for them is their current domination of the market. Which ensures that someone owning a PS2 will probably buy the next console. The true fight going on is parents buying their new "never played computer before" kids a console. Because it's "those" kids that'll shape the way the console war goes in the future.

With the Nintendo DS, Nintendo has proven that people are looking for new ways to play their video games. It has got me hooked I'll tell you that and with the release of DS Lite in June you can be sure I will get one for myself.

Nintendo Wii will either totally fail or it will steal away the show at E3 and become a massive hit. I personally doubt that it will fail whatsoever. Anyways, the one thing that is certain is that everyone is anticipating to see the actual system. Dont try and deny it. Whether you like it or not you want to see Nintendo unveil that beast. And you will, this may at E3.

One game has never been enough reason to buy a console. And even if some nuts are willing to pay $400 to play one game, Microsoft will still be losing out because they need console owners to buy at least 8-10 games to really start making a dent in the market.

I don't even think it's a fair comparison to evaluate the Wii's level success against the 360 or the PS3. At about half the cost, no non-gaming features like DVD playing and a unique controller, the Wii is much different from the other two. PS3 and 360 will be fighting over the same audience of gamers in a more direct head-to-head match-up, but the Wii will still find enough of an audience to do well. The price alone of the three systems will ensure that there will be a healthy market for the Wii as the other two have been priced out of many people's budgets.

I will get the Wii, and I know why. When I was growing up, I played Mario. I played Zelda. I played Metroid.

It's not like the QUALITY of the games Nintendo has been putting out has greatly decreased -- it's that they get absolutely no media attention at all.

You're neglecting the fact that the 360 is out NOW. There are games that people are playing on it NOW. How many titles are out for the PS3? None?

The Xbox will have more than 1 "killer app" by the time the PS3 reaches shelves (in modest numbers, I might add--don't think that Sony won't purposefully under-stock stores). Devs boast about launch titles before console launches, but really very few ever see Day 1 of the launch.

Plain and simple, the Xbox is ALREADY penetrating the market. Every day that Sony doesn't have something in the stores, Microsoft is getting a stronger following. The fact is that Microsoft has positioned itself in the console industry, and it isn't going away any time soon.

I must admit, Fight Night(360) is a fun game to play with someone. I dunno about alone, some games that have fun multiplayer aren't great solo. Another title I'm interested in for the 360 is Dead Rising, so we'll see how the 360 will end up. If they get enough good games I wouldn't mind buying one, but right now it's game selection just isn't enough. While I won't hesitate to get a Wii (cheap price, downloadable old games, Twilight Princess) , the 360 and the ps3 are going to have to show me which is a more ideal system for me, I can't afford all 3 systems.

One other thing, Wii fans: Do you have any ideas about how they are going to let players download the games? My friend told me that you'll be able to connect to the internet using whatever connection you alread have (Cable, 56k, etc), and that to go online with the Wii, you just stick in a USB stick in your comp while on the internet, and that will connect your Wii to the intraweb. He said it's similar to how the DS connects, can anyone confirm/deny? Thoughts?
