Here's where most of you have it wrong about the majority of illigal immigrants. A lot of them date from way back, then they hopped the border (or became refugees from their countries), entered the US and had babies.

These babies grew up and also are considered illegal immigrants and have no social status. They can't go back to Mexico/Panama/Cuba/Wherever, because they aren't even legal citizens there.

Then, the US government either imprisons them or sends them back to countries that will also reject them. The thing most don't realize is the millions of illegal immigrants don't do much but work for society. Yes, they don't pay taxes or w/e, but they also don't have a free ride (no/less education, less health care, etc.)

But yes, it's true, they aren't legal citizens, they could have done the paper work all before hand, but they didn't. So now what? Now, we wait. We wait and see the boycott and how much this will affect (if it affects anything at all). It isn't just the millions of immigrants rallying in protest, it's also many companies (who aren't government associated) closing their doors on that same day in protest.

Yeah, great idea. Kick all the immigrants, and watch the 25% of our economy which isn't service based fall flat on its ass. At this point, it makes absolutely no sense to kick out the 11 million aliens in our country that are doing the work the spoiled American born people aren't. I don't want to pick oranges 14 hours a day for minimum wage, do any of you? They're protesting (I believe rightfully so) because they do our country a favor by doing work we refuse to, then getting shafted by the very same people that rely upon them to do that manual "shit job" labor.

Continuing to depend on cheap (and in many cases, illegal) menial labor as the basis of our economy isn't the way to go either.

I agree, but that's something we should have figured out a long time ago. Unfortunately we didn't, and the hole is to big to dam at this point. We are stuck in this situation, whether we like it or not, because the generation before did nothing about this problem. The time for drastic measures was 20 years ago.

                  We have to start somewhere.
I'm almost sure there are laws against illegal immigrants being employed, but it won't do any good unless the government decides to start enforcing it. Just because businesses are powerful doesn't mean they can override federal law. Someone has to bring the hammer down on some nasty business practices, and the sooner the better.

true, but kicking out the part of our economy that does the manual labor isn't going to solve the problem, it's going to make it bigger. Our economy is already 7 trillion dollars in the shitter (thanks G.W.) and the last thing we need is to cut a quarter of it away. If perhaps at a time of surplus we wanted to slowly enforce stricter laws, and maybe beef up our boarders, then hey, lets do it. But right now, with our country struggling monitarely, as is, eliminating the manual workforce (who also work for cheap) is going to do more harm than help.

It's going to cause some economic pains, but the faster we clean up our service sector the better off we will be in the longrun.

P.S.- The problems with debt started long before G.W. (Although he's hardly done much to improve the situation, I don't like people scapegoating someone)

Firstly, no it didn't. It started with the Iraq war, and the billions we're spending on a daily basis to fund it.

Secondly, I guess I'm missing where this will help in the long run. Americans are still not going to want to do these jobs. Getting rid of the illegial aliens is not going to motivate the middle class to do grunt labor. Hell, it's not even going to motivate the lower class to do grunt labor. These Mexicans are willing to work for cheap, and they do the jobs we don't want to. I don't see the problem, and I can easily see where they're pissed. They're upholding their end of the deal by doing our crappy jobs, but we aren't holding our end by letting them be.

They can do the same work as legal immigrants as they can illegally. You can't expect to just ignore the proper way to become legalized and still be given the status of a citizen. That's the whole argument in my opinion.

We have plenty of white trash and blacks that can do that work, the problem is our welfare system and I think most people know that. If we just stopped giving a fuck about people who are too lazy to get a job and we shipped these ******s back to mexico we'd be in much better shape. Obviously you're forgetting about all the people who are currently on welfare that could be doing that 'bitch work'

While everyone else appears to be able to discuss this in a non-racist or derogatory manner, you've failed. Consider this a warning. -Rudy

lmao mexicans do 75% of the construction work in this country, without them WE WILL NOT HAVE NEW ROADS, sure we have white trash and all like izor said, but we all know white ppl are too fucking lazy and the blacks think something is owed to them, its the white trash and black shit that sucks up our Social securtiy money and welfare, not hispanic immigrants. this country will only benefit by giving them papers, i know this, i live in houston.
