is it worse to rob a blind man or and old age pensioner than a healthy young man

is it the robbing that is wrong rather than the who?

      that is my point

it seems more fair game to rob someone who should be able to defend themselves.

however its the robbing thats wrong not robbing the decrepit

why should it be more wrong?

the wrongging is in the robbing !!!!

That's like asking why slapping a seven year old boy is worse then slapping a 25 year old man. Not only are you committing robbery, but you're doing it to a much more defenseless person. Blindness or old age makes them a much more vulnerable target to robbers, so increasing the penalty for going for the weaker persons can act as a deterrant, and potentially make criminals more likely to focus on people who aren't as vulerable, which in turns has a more chance of failure or the criminal getting caught. Especially with blind people, because they cannot describe the person and can only identify the person by voice, if the attacker said anything.

this all assumes, however, that you know something about the person and their psychological/social makeup.

i mean, if the strapping young lad is super-pacifist and the "defenseless" old man is actually a mob boss, that changes everything around doesnt it.

Yea, but statistically, males around 18-20 are way more likely to take risks. Just ask an actuary, or an insurance company.

So, is there a new law or something that increases the penalty for victimizing old ppl instead of younger ppl?
