  • Planning to get into Wireless Stuff

Ok, my wired keyboard and mouse are driving me crazy. In the next week, I'm planning to get a Wireless Keyboard+Mouse over here:

    http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...063&cid=PE.826

How long do the batteries in the keyboard and mouse last? What if they run out? How do you replace them? Does it come with a recharger? I suck.

I have had a couple wireless setups during my computer using life. The most important part about getting a reliable piece of machinery is the brand. Microsoft, Logitech, etc. are usually priced a little higher but truly work the best and will give you the best battery life as well as the best performance.

With all wireless technology there is some glitchiness at times, but it usually can all be fixed with a push of a button to reset the keyboard/mouse to the base.

The problem I have with the system that you have picked out is that I have never heard from the brand (nor the site selling it, but that is a different story). Go the extra couple bucks and get the brand name. You'll be glad and the Byteccc won't be embedded into the drywall.

Don't bother with wireless for mice and keyboards. They cost too much, use enormous amounts of batteries, cut out often and break faster then PS2 or USB.

Mine ran out 3 days after I got it. I have no idea where to replace those half-dime sized batteries either.

I have the same concerns. I'm wanting to get this but afraid I'll spend all that money on it and then have to buy batteries all the time.

But I guess if I got two sets rechargeable NiMH batteries and always had a set charged, then it wouldn't be so bad.

My logitech mouse is wireless, for my laptop, and I've had no problems with it, and long battery life (I got it in December, still using it on its first batteries)

I had a wireless m$ mouse for my notebook and it was awesome for about 6 months until the usb contacts in the receiver stopped working continuously

What you should do is get m$ gear and KEEP THE RECEIPT. My mouse was still under the "mail in a broken one and we'll mail you a fixed one" warranty you don't have to sign up to for another 2.5 years but I couldn't do anything since I had long since gotten rid of the receipt.

Actually... my friends wireless keyboard lasts forever with the batteries but mice... depending on which kind last one day up to a week. I'd say get a wired keyboard and spend extra money on a mice and get an MX1000 $$ Accupack ftw I used it for like a week straight 15h a day no problem.

I am using a wireless mouse both at home and work. Batteries are changed about once a year. Good batteries too! do not get the ones that came with the remote for your TV that are in an unreadable language. Duracell Alkalines work well.

As for the mice. Home is a wireless MS Intellimouse Explorer and work is the Logitech MX700.

Both are great and I have not had a prob in over two years.

They will let you know when the battery is losing its charge. The do not just drop dead....at least these two brands do not.

No clue as to wireless keys and how well they work.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

Duracell is so much better than the rest, the bunnies are not joking. i was using a barcode scanner with supermarket batteries and i could scan 5 codes untill the battery was dead. i did that twice and than i switched to Duracell after calling the support. they last a month now already.

yeah, with decent batteries, mouses (mice?) should last a few weks before needing to be replaced, not that expensive

                          and keyboard batteries last forever

Dude, Duracell batteries are the best ever. I bought some for my elite alarm clock, and it still works after several years, I stopped counting.

Eh it depends on how much you use your mice really, but like I said
a week with AA isn't that difficult except when you use them a lot.
And Aldi batteries are better $ long live tests.
Anyway even my cheap 15€ medion wireless mice runs like 20 hours of AAA batteries, and I just keep a spare pair charged which only takes one hour to get done :P and if that fails I still got my MS usb mice . And keyboards last for months before you need to change them.
