noone knew he was that insane so noone did anything about it. noone did anything. it was a slow process. who knows what he could have reached with a sane mind. he was so close to having an A-Bomb and winning or at least stopping the war.
what worries me more is the short ammout of time you need to build up a culture. 5 years of Hitlerjugend and you have a 16 year old male that does not question anything. give him a grenade and he will attack.
now look at iran. maybe WE didnt learn our lesson?
maybe it is how the culture of ours works. You cant get get rich without making someone poor. of course we wont fight, we have everything, but they will. letting them get the a-Bomb is not such a great idea.
could this situation of today have been avoided? yes. should a culture like the current one in iran have the a-Bomb? no. the only problem is, you cant expect us to grab a gun and do something about it.
we have to make some young 16 year old go down there. this is how it works. and that is the lession we learned from history. not to avoid wars but how to survive them. america does its job. or maybe we could be diplomatic like the world was 60/70 years ago
edit: im still blaming america on the situation. like 70 years ago. if you fuck up a culture to much it will polarize and fight.Last edited by Fluffz; 05-28-2006, 03:20 PM.

First Izor: Gais Caligula was Emperor of Rome for exactly four years.
Second Blood:
Don't get quotes off whatreallyhappened. That was like Tone's stomping ground, and it's full of more retarded notions and conspiracy nonsense than any decent person could stand.
I know your meaning is actually to point out these similarities, but you're looking at a fringe group of widely recognized crackpots here. There are plenty enough people in the USA that don't like George Bush, believe that he should be impeached, believe that he has and continues to abuse his power, and shit all goodwill the world had for the US down the drain for no good reason. They manage to do this, and yet don't make claims that space aliens ate our government and blew up buildings in order to convince us to invade a country and get oil to make their alien babies with. I also happen to believe that yes, fellow Americans are by and large domesticated, fearful of even their other citizens having "too much freedom", because they can't control anyone else but themselves.
All I know for certain, is what holds true for me.
I never once voted for Bush either time, I believe in living free, even when you don't like your neighbors, or they might offend you, and I believe that I would rather die than have my freedom taken from me, no matter if it's from an outside force or from my own government."Sexy" Steve Mijalis-Gilster, IVX

Interesting, is that a credible source however? I wouldnt put it past Bush, to do something like that, but when you have a country that won't even make a strong showing to prevent the election of a moron, a credible source would get your message clearer.1:AnZu> jk jk underground i love you

Whenever they stop needing someone to blame for everything. Not enough hugs, too many belt lashes, too powerful and belligerent of a country, etc.; we've heard it all before. Now quit speaking in hypotheticals (ie "if the rest of the world wasn't dependent on the US then we'd fuck some shit up!") and start building a reputable military so we can give 2 fucks about you guys way out in the periphery.

point 1. I did not write the article, nor have I commented on it.
point 2. The author is American, not European.
point 3. The article gives some insight as to how the German people were misled to and during WW2, and how the current situation in the US similar to it, yet far from the same.jee

for a different view on nazi germany, and hitler's rise to power check these history links out:
http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk...ctatorship.htm
http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk...ong_knives.htm
not so sure about the site's cred, it's just stuff that i've heard before from many places. the gist of it, in my view, is that the german people did not follow hitler willingly at all, and he did not 'look good' to the german people.
draw whatever parallels you want between him and bush though. fun stuff.
