It's odd too. One of the defence's main arguments was that the pilots were acting in self defence, but the prosecution has already proven that the pilots were not only at fault for putting themselves in a bad position in the first place, but also because the flight data indicates that the plane turned in for a bombing run, as opposed to an evasive manouevre.

I guess all this whole thing proves is that the US can't see past its boarders and it takes the death of an AMERICAN to catch the attention of such a self-centered country.

I read the papers and it does seem as though the "killers" are very sorry and their apologies were very sentimental... It may have been an accident, but had this been canadians killing americans it would be a completely different story. The americans would be flipping out and trying to get the Canadians into an electric chair.
