Anyways he did a good job as a SPEAKER. In fact I only heard him screw up Peninsula (penenchula).

As far as the speech goes it was crap. He says he wants America to lead the world in developing hydrogen powered cars so we can have clean energy sources and shit, but he's about to start a war for oil. He tried to make himself sound like an environmentalist, which is the furthest thing from the truth. All these medical budgets, 8 billion here and there. All of it's nothing compared to the Military budget (300 billion i think?). What a bastard.

Bah, Mayo you sort of pose a good point here. However, don't neglect the fact that he said he was allocating something like $5 billion dollars to research over the next 18 years. That is hardly anything at all. Japan is kicking the shit out of us in technology for hydrogen operated vehicles. But this is nothing new. Look at hybrid cars <which Bush's administration has repeatedly been against>; Honda and Toyota both came out with them, and Ford is the only American company making them as of now. GM just started a project on one. As you can see, and probably don't care, we are getting ass fucked by the Japs in this area.

Also, the whole environment stance. Bush is just posing that because the American population <85% of whom, remind you have little to no knowledge of politics in general> will be willing to buy it, thinking he is on to something. Did you notice how the democrats didn't stand up for him when he was talking about this? That is because his argument is incredibly specious. He doesn't care about the environment. What he cares about is votes. And he knows he can get those sway votes from the politically ignorant if he mentions things that seem like good ideas in his speeches. The republican party is in a bit of a bind. Sure they whopped ass in the mid term elections, but the truth of the matter is people are now losing faith. No one wants to go to war, and everyone wants a better economy, both of which AREN'T going to happen while the republicans are in office. He knows that if he gets the sway votes he can stand a chance of reelection. Without them, there is a very strong possibility that he will get fucked over.

OH, and here is another thing that pissed me the fuck off about his speech. Aid for people in Africa. Here he is planning on spending another 5 billion for people in another contienent. Surely, most people would think this is admirable. But why didn't the democrats, who are strong proponents of foreign aid programs stand? BECAUSE HIS PLAN SUCKS ASS! He wants to "aid" people in Africa by providing people with money to get drugs to help them live longer lives, oh that is fine and dandy, but what about prevention. Here is where Bush falls back on the old Reganite philosophy of "ABSTINENCE." We all know, especially you Euro geeks, that abstinence is the last thing anyone wants to practice. Hell I want to fuck till my dick turns blue too. Instead of abstinence he should be preaching safe sex. Whatever, this is where he looks like a total assclown. The money will be so diluted by the time it reaches the people, that it is going to have minimal effects on the suffering. This is just a shameless way of trying to gain support in the Sub Saharan African countries which are vital to our American economic interests.

Last thing, for all 2 of you people who decided to keep reading past my "fuck till my dick turns blue" comment. Bush said something along the lines of "and now they <terrorists> know the true meaning of American justice." WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?! Someone needs to ask him what his stance on human rights is. This is perhaps one of the most ridiculous things he could have said short of saying "I am going to kill all of those damned sand n**gers." I can't believe he would stoop to this level to entice emotions out of people. This was just pathetic, and the international community should be appalled by this utter bullshit.
