The Goblet of Fire was 157 minutes, LOTR extended version are over 3 hours. I have no problem with a movie being 180 to 190 minutes. They could have added a good 30 minutes to that movie.

Wheel of Time is a good series. The last book (12) isn't gonna be out until 09 though, supposedly it is going to be about.. 1500 or so pages.

The Wheel of Time series is easily compared to Quicksand. STarted promising but turned out to be shite.

My manager offered to get me the book today if I promised to dress up as Hermione for work on the 20th, and stay until the release party. I declined and said I'll dress up if he pays me, but I'll wait for the book like everyone else.

i always thought it was silly, until i was working at rogers video (canadas blockbuster) and we put on one of the harry potters because it was new, it was the one where the girl is travelling through time, and i thought it was ok. My buddy brought me to see the last one, where there in the wizard tourny, and it was pretty good, so i'll probably see the rest of the movies. That is, as long as they continue to get darker, i hear the first ones where there very young are far more cheery, if thats the case i wouldn't watch those.

and emma watson is hot, and yes I feel slightly odd saying that given shes 5 years younger than me (soon to be 6) but she is.

I saw the new Harry Potter movie when it came out, at midnight.

I never read any of the books, never saw any of the movies beforehand. I only went, because 3 of my other friends really wanted to. So, I went, and I was surprised, it was pretty kickass.

Haven't read any fantasy books in a looong while, but I know I had started Wheel of time, after 4th book it got annoyingly obvious it wouldn't end for like 10 more years. And it hasn't.

My all time favorite is "Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever", it's much darker and has a proper anti-hero who like, whines alot, and rapes a 16yr old at the begining of the series. I especially liked the second trilogy when things got ugly...

I also thought Feist & Wurts Empire books (Daughter of the Empire + others) were really good (I was 17ish back then, so it may turn out to be a slightly skewed memory )

my gf works at a barnes and nobles...so i'm getting an a copy of the book before its 'officially' released. only about 4 hours, but hey, i'll beat the crowds and all those creepers dressed as wizards.

Today was opening day for Order of the Phoenix at my theater and let me tell you that I have never seen so many die hard fans ever, well maybe star wars episode three was a bit more intense but it was still a huge turnout. Normally I'm a supervisor but today my job was to just sit and watch half the movie and make sure no one was pirating the movie, I was pretty happy with what I saw so I'm looking forward to seeing it when it comes out.
