I'm wondering how the Democrats will find a way to screw this up again, they're getting pretty good at it

I thought the situation in USA atm was a black member or a woman standing for presidency.

Both a first for america, i know nothing about eithers policies but i heard the black dude in a few interviews he seems to know what he's talking about. He get's my vote.

    Women running countries seriously man.

I guess you do not watch the news or have read a newspaper recently.

    Iowa Caucus: Jan. 3rd 2008
New Hampshire Primary: Jan. 8th 2008
South Carolina Primary: Jan. 26th 2008
    Florida: January 29th 2008

These are the ones you see on the news every day and what everyone party wise has been holding debates/news coverage for.

Michigan and Nevada are also holding primary's but who cares about these states based upon electoral swing.

Thanks Panda...you actually made me sign in and make a post.

Don't schools teach political science anymore?

The primaries are different in every state. In some states, you can vote for your favorite Democrat candidate and your favorite Republican candidate. In some you can just vote for the candidate of the party you're registered to. In some states they don't even have a primary. The primaries take place starting in April, not sure when they end.

And then in every state, delegates are sent to the national conventions depending on how the votes in the state played out. So if one state had an overwhelming support for Hillary Clinton, then most of the delegates that are sent to the Democratic National Convention are sworn to support her. These conventions take place next August for Democrats, September for Republicans.

At the convention, I think the delegates vote on the final candidate for the party. I think. We haven't covered this part in my government class really. But at the end of the convention they announce the candidate for Presidency for the party.

I suppose this is going to happen sooner or later when people are just given all this freedom where they didn't have to fight for it, they just take it for granted. We can have all the check's and balances in the World but it doesn't mean shit if the majority or close to it of American's don't care. The patriot act was only the beginning.

Oh and check out our president/congress trying to grant immunity to massive telecom companies.

I'll tell you how this will go..at least in my case it is very simple. I will find out who is running for the republican party, and learn if their philosophies are somewhat what I like. If the presidential candidate for the republican party is a total douchebag, and the democratic party candidate isnt, I wont vote. If say...I really didnt agree with the republican candidate this election but Hillary Clinton was running on the democratic side, clearly Im going to vote republican anyway. It's that simple. I guess theres a lot of people that want to think that it matters to be 'educated' on who they're voting for and really feel that they know the candidates well and who best supports the US as a whole when they go to cast their vote, and if that makes them sleep better at night more power to em..but I cant be bothered
    My thoughts exactly.
