Johnny Depp although decent doesn't touch Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman is probably the best actor ever, serious roles, badass roles. Can't be touched.

What about John Travolta from Pulp Fiction to present. Swordfish anyone, Michael, Phenomenon i could keep going?

I cant picture Tom Hanks being a pirate or Edward Scissorhands or even half the roles Johnny Depps been in.

My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

ill just make this easy and point this out to everyone to prove why J.D. isnt not the best actor in the world

before blow, johnny depp was garbage, and do not tell me edward scissorhands or w/e was anything special that anyone covered with white facial paint couldn't have done

also, before pirates of the carribean, a lot of people did not even know he existed, that movie franchise single handedly changed his career from a "good actor but not alot of recognition" into being on a "brad-pitt superstar" calibur

what im saying is johnny depp is a great actor, but not the best, im sure if you asked him he would say the same thing

tom hanks comes to mind as an actor that really went into multiple genres, being it comedy to drama, etc.

brad pitt has some awesome movies

i really think morgan freeman is one of the best, shawshank redemption for instance is one of my all time favorite movies ever, and hes been in so many good movies its amazing

all in all i like J.D. but hes not the greatest in ever like you guys seem to want to say, which I find very wierd unless your all secretly gay or females...

some of you are so bad at this that honestly i would think that if The Matrix just came out some of you would say keanu reeves is the best actor ever...

Sorry, Morgan freeman is great actor but he is not someone who can take a role and push it forward like johnny depp and brad pitt does...
I forgot Edward Norton, another amazing actor.

Billy Bob Thornton. Such a laconic vibe that guy has. Unmatched style.

Jim Carrey. I first hated this guy. A bit prejudiced, I hated his character in Batman and his overacting in the mask. I didn't see Ace Ventura. Only when he did a few of the drama films I found out that he was actually a pretty talented actor. I still don't like his face, but I can easily get past that because of his acting.

I don't really think Johnny Depp is such a great actor, but he's very eccentric and has a nose for 'different' scripts -I guess-. Basically I would watch any film he stars in (except for Ed Wood). It helps that he worked with Terry Gilliam, my favourite director.

Edward Norton is a very good actor, maybe a bit genre specific, but always very convincing. Apparently likes to play in films with a twist. Primal Fear and Fight Club, for instance, blow your mind in the final scenes.

Jack Nicholson, don't really need to elaborate. John Malcovic, Ralph Fiennes.
