FoxNews doesn't produce fair and balanced news, everything I read has an editorial spin to it. Like I said before just because Obama gets more air time on the news it's only because of the stories they produce. I tried to tell you guys before McCain shaking hands and talking to people is good for a total of 20-30 seconds. This is straight across the board, no VO CLIP or CLIP VO (voice over then clip of McCain talking) is going to be allotted anymore time than 45 seconds. Obama does things that require full story packages, and take a lot more time to produce. Like I said try editing a story with no substance, no sound, no visuals then try to say they're being overly bias.

I have seen certain news station favor Obama however I have also seen FoxNews favor McCain. What it's really gotten down to is McCain doesn't know how to make his campaign interesting, and people won't watch things that aren't interesting. The funny thing is some of you Republicans might say 'that's not fair the news should allot each person the equal amounts of time', but it's all about ratings and advertisement dollars. It's funny cause the same people downplaying 'the media's obsession with Obama' as some would call it, are the same people who wouldn't fund a public broadcasting system.

Dude, Jon Stewart smacks down some idiot from FOX daily. Might be silly to bring up Stewart, considering alot of people would point out he's just as bias - but that's not my point. Fox news isn't even good enough to be considered a reliable source of information. They're retarded, they make the people on CNN look credible. I'm not even going to waste my time looking for articles, because anyone with a speck of wit knows that FOX is just as bias as any other news-team out there.

Problem I have with FOX or CNN, alot of them really, you can always tell who's paying them. I used to watch CNN in the morning while my dad got ready for work (he always watches CNN in the morning, don't know why), smoke a bowl, and laugh my ass off. It was really more entertaining than anything else on in the morning. Being able to watch them, and know who they're supporting.

There are two kinds of people that watch the news. The kind that take it seriously, and believe what they hear almost instantly. Then there's the other kind, that see it as more of a comedy. If you ask me, The Daily Show and Colbert Report are two of the most honest news shows on the air. For the simple fact that smart people can tell exactly what they're saying. They aren't owned and run by corporations, they aren't told what or HOW to say something. They look at something, and make their POV plain, and unrestricted by the leashes that are fastened to every other news show out there. Best of all, their goal is primarily to make us laugh, which as I said, wise people do at regular news anyways. I like being able to have someone say the exact comments I'd be making while watching some bullshit president say he couldn't do anything to help his bailout bill get passed right away because of a jewish holiday. I'm glad there are at least a couple people out there with the power and the voice to say "FUCKING BULLSHIT" when it's so obviously there.

Every news station is biased Izor, the only ones worth taking seriously, are the ones that accept their bias and go for a greater goal than fear - laughter.

I think CNN has really got their shit back together since writing obscure stories in favor of the Iraq war. I also didn't appreciate their sensationalism approach.

I recently read Anderson Cooper's Dispatches from the Edge; and what I can tell you is that he is a strong willed journalist who has seen and been through some of the most disturbing things in the past twenty years. He's committed to the truth and being an instrument for the masses to tell their stories. I think every news station has people that work against their company, but I'd like to point out that CNN really isn't as bad as people think it is.

I didn't understand the magnitude of the governments failures during Katrina or the impact it has had on the state of Louisiana. Cooper was there blasting politicians who wanted to pat themselves and the president on the back during the first few days of Katrina. When I say blasted, I mean he stood up to them and informed them that there was still dead bodies rotting in the streets, and that saying the government did a great job is rubbing the people the wrong way.

We don't have a "professional" army, it isn't voluntary, it is a mandatory service for your country. Hence, I wouldn't classify it as a "job".

lets review:

Professional Army:
People volunteer/enlist to join the army.
They get paid a proper salary for duties rendered.

Conscription Army:
People are bound by law to their civic duty, and must serve in the military/civil service.
They don't get paid a proper salary.

Now, before you try to bring up some weak ass rebuttal, yes you can continue on to becoming a professional solider and have a career in the military, i.e. voluntarily stay in the army and earn a living from it, but this is after you've done your time as a conscript.

Draft dodging is nearly non-existent, as failure to show up to conscription immediately leads to an arrest warrant and is prosecuted as absence without leave, or desertion after five days of absence.

I'm talking about online news thats in text. Fox at least tries to give 2 sides to a story. CNN and others rarely try to do that. I was confusing I suppose when I said that, and obviously people like O'reilly are nowhere near moderate. I saw on CNN.com today the same story on foxnews.com yesterday that mccain called obama a socialist for his tax plan. It was actually just a rehash of the other story, but it marked the first time in quite a while that there wasnt anything negative thrown in about mccain or anything trying to discredit what he said, unlike other articles i've read. I continue to read from a couple sources but its very obvious what side the writer of the article is on after reading it. Although clearly I like it a little when the bias is in my favor, I will admit when I see it and I dont really like that in news articles. In fact, im going to find one that I think is biased toward my views now
