I'm running really low on funds, but I'm hoping I'll get it as an early 21st bday present, only a couple more weeks :wub: but I've just got a shitload to do in my life right now. I really wanna get this game though.

As for resources: You can mine and chop wood (there's probably more I'm not sure), I believe to craft things. If you get your reputation as a resource merchant, you'll be less likely to be involved in gankings when it comes to other players. Oh you ganked me? NO RESOURCES FOR YOU!

I've only seen how the mining is done so far, and u sit by a big rock, just like in real life, and swing at it with I would presume a pick axe. A mining "node" I've been told can be farmed for 20 minutes, swing, loot, swing, loot. I hear it's pretty easy, and not a huge hassle like in World of Warcraft or other games. There could be more to it though.

The game may look crappy, just like how it is with Asheron's call, but once you're in that environment and killing another clan with yours, you get an amazing feeling. This game's not gonna be for everyone, im not telling everyone to go out and get it or anything, but this is incredibly fun and totally my style.

edit: Haha! I already have the client installed, it's just d/ling & installing a 130MB patch now. It's REALLY fast! 50% done in 2 minutes!

It's offline so that the servers don't crash while they're selling the game. Apparently they took them down about 15 minutes ago so the store can be become available to players!

ETA is 1 hour. The servers are down for optimizations having to do with increasing server capacity.

Hello,

We offered a larger number of copies the last couple of days, we’ll continue today. The larger number of new players entering the game are responsible for the queue times some of you have been experiencing during prime time hours. These are temporary. Tomorrow (Thursday) and possibly on Friday, we won’t offer more Darkfall copies in order to allow the new players to distribute around the world. We are trying to find a good balance between low queue times and increased Darkfall
availability. We are continually improving our capacity and optimizing as we increase the number of Darkfall copies available.

A way to decrease queue times is for players to bind away from the starting areas as soon as possible. Most of the congestion is seen around the starting areas. Prime-time hours are when most of the queuing will occur. Again, this is temporary.

We are continuing to ban players we detect are using third party exploit programs. If you're not using them, there's no reason to worry that you'll be banned for their use.

Yeah, I had my first near-death experience today. Dang goblins! *shakes fist* Surprisingly, a lot of players don't even bother fighting you, in fact 99% of them are scared to fight other players.

All players have the ability to kill one another. If you attack another player, you be come "red" momentarily, where you're able to be killed by players of your faction without the penalty.

If you kill another player of your faction (only if they don't attack you first), you become "chaotic," and you can't go back to your home city without the "Guard Towers" shooting & zapping you to death. To get your alignment back up, all you have to do is kill an enemy "red" or someone from another faction


I'll let you guys know how the game is once the servers come back up and I'm able to actually play on my real PC, instead of my crummy laptop. So far it's FUN!

Okay back! Sorry I've just been so busy busy on that game! It's a blast.

I made a new character, named "Master Xog." He's one of the elven races, and within 15 minutes I wound up finding a clan that totally pimped me out in armor and weapons. The guild is called "Fallen Lords" (awesome guys). They tell me to hop in vent, and I'm greeted with "Sup, get ur butt up here, I'm sending you a group invite." So I say alright, with barely ANY knowledge of how the game works. Being the savvy guy I am, I press "M" for the map, and see 8 clanmates outside of an enemy city. I head up there (about 15 minute run, no joke) and when I get there, I come in with full stats. The group is engaged in a fight with about 10 giant wolven players (not NPCs or mobs, these are players), and I get about 5 kills. I'm praised by the new clan and instantly promoted to Corporal within the clan. So now when a player passes over me, they see "Corporal Master Xog of the Fallen Lords" SIIIICK.

I got even better armor, a shitload of money, tons of reagants, and the pride that I stole somebody's hard-earned equipment. Damn this is great. We even had a GM pop up and spy on us, it was hilarious. He was crouching behind a rock so we wouldn't see him, but we did. Then we all attacked the GM (we got massive skillups attacking him btw) and he has like infinite health so we couldn't kill him. He was laughing. Apparently the GM said that someone reported us for speed hacking (which we weren't).

We have 1 player named Nanaki Beast (apparently well known within the Darkfall Community for pwning face) and he's of the Wolven race. The great thing is, we can talk to him, and he's even in our clan! The enemy, in OUR clan! This game's crazy awesome! We had Beast (Chris) get some naked players to come out and "help him with something." Then we all popped out from behind a tree and let the blood flow. The floor was completely covered in blood.

Then a big wave of about 7 other players with full stats came in for the final blow against us. Me and 2 others died, and the other 5 were able to get away. But it was no problem, I run back and they give me more armor and weapons, plus a little gold. (From looting the players we killed!)

So, my first day, INCREDIBLE GAME! Oh, and the graphics are actually very good. There's just so many different animations needed for all the meneuvers, it's limited to not being completely smooth.

Fallen Lords is a converted guild from a combination of UO and EvE online. u might find some of your friends on there.

I haven't found anyone from AC yet, but I did see a post from one of my old patrons on the DFO forums.

This game's still not finished yet, but it's still fun as hell to play. Nothing's "game breaking", it's just small stuff like descriptions of some skills and such.

im in the process of looking up my old guild. The most fun I had on UO was when I was part of a guild called PAS (people's army of sonoma)

We created player events, and dungeon runs. We also helped other players in every aspect of the game.

We took over a city a while ago. While running around we found this big mountain with a big lake at the bottom. We jumped off the mountain into the water, and found an entrance to the mountain, where it dropped off into about a 500 foot waterfall (literally you could stack 100+ players on top of eachother, that's how tall it was). We jumped down, and it was this big cave! The scenery was amazing, I wish I knew how to take screenshots. There were big mushrooms, player-size, some glowed, it looked so epicly epic! Then we travelled around in the cave, and we found a city!!

There were 2 players there, from the same guild. This was THEIR CITY. We killed both players, looted them, and about 5 more players from the guild recalled to their town. The clan got pwned, too bad we didn't have siege weapons, otherwise we would've claimed the city as our own!
