She was honorably discharged but that isn't really the point. You can't define a political movement through using a dictionary, you have to understand the workings. Liberals in America are working to make America a socialist nation. And you suck at trolling.

The special interests and alarmists like kthx/izor are too loud and are drowning out everyone else.

Obama is doing a bad job of this, because as president and as someone who campaigned on healthcare reform as one of this signature issues, he needs to be the leader of this and not just let congress do whatever it wants as he's been mostly doing.
Horror stories are a dime a dozen, and the people living in the country know how bullshit it is. That is unless you have blinders on your eyes and you're not in touch with the massive amount of people who are struggling because of it. Eventually some sort of Universal health care will pass, but it's uncertain what it will actually look like. I think the problem is that health care in Britain is different than Canada, and both will differ from health care in the States. I just hope people understand that countries who have had this service for twenty-thirty plus years will have a much better understanding how to effectively run it. I don't see a grand solution, I see a long road towards a better future for the masses.

I understand where people are coming from with critizing the governments ability to effectively run a public health care system - when the federal government has proven itself to be rather ineffective. Regardless of party affiliation there's a certain amount of fear with allowing the fed to take control of this.

Well Obama is actually purposefully taking a tactic of letting congress do whatever it wants. He's going out of his way to please congress by letting them write the bill. This is directly because of the failure of the Clinton healthcare plan back in the 90s where Hilary basically did all the work and said to everyone 'hey vote for this'. But because Obama is bending over backwards for congress, and congress is so big that special interests have much leeway, whatever plan that gets passed in the end will certainly not be that great and probably end up costing a lot more money.

I hate Pelosi as well. I also hated every previous speaker too, like that obese F'er Denny Hastert that enjoyed the legalities of having sex with 10 - 13 year old girls from Southeast Asia.

Last speaker I actually liked was probably before 95% of the users on this forum were born, was Tip O'Neil.

I am in total agreement though in the disgust and hatred towards that face lifted bag of a speaker Pelosi.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

Yeah my bad. I didn't mean to be a dick, I was trying to address your post honestly.

I just meant to ask if it's really surprising to find out that Obama, like all politicians, wont be keeping EVERY promise he made to win votes during the election. If McCain were president I would say the same thing.

Especially since most of the "conservative" posters here take a stance that's actually liberal conservatism (or straight out liberal), pass them off as conservative and then continue to pass socialist opinions off as liberal.

You got the theory all mixed up.

Asking for the government to pay the medical bill of your tumorous girlfriend after she deserted, for instance, is socialism. The freedom to question the government on this, or any matter, is liberalism.
Conservatism would be if your government was an Irish preacher that took the law straight from the bible.

Your current president might be liberal, he's mostly socialist.
You have to understand that connotations of words change over time and based on the societal context of a word its meaning can transform. I may disagree with wark and find his opinions ill-founded at times, but he isn't a stupid person (despite what my sig points out). I am pretty sure he understands that he lives in a western liberal welfare state. Yes, everyone in this country who buys into it indeed does buy into liberalism and if you want to take the dictionary definition and classify quite literally; yes we are all a bunch of liberals with some leaning towards socialism. However, the words "conservative" and "liberal" in the modern American society have come to represent an idea far larger than the original ideology of liberalism and conservatism. To be rather succinct and brief, they represent a system of moral beliefs which you apply to your political views. So when I sit here and call wark a raging conservative I am referring to the context of modern American society and its connotations of the word, not your dictionary definition. Yeah, be a prick and call technicalities. Please understand language b4 you speak.

i would know names of other countries' leaders if their names weren't so awkward

if you want to be taken seriously as a leader you need a normal name

                    like bush

..who is, coincidentally, tittyville's leader (barbara, not george)

Exactly, and since it's being chopped together the American people will think Universal Health Care is more of a joke than they already do. It's going to be a focal point for American Conservatives to argue that American Liberals institute ineffective programs and policies.

Even the people who want and believe in universal health care realize how this is going to be an epic fail, so why support it?

I do know that Hu Jintao (or oa, whatever something like that) is the President of China, why? Cause I watch the news! Yes, outside of America the news is not only about America.

Edit: Cool there was already a page two.
