        • How would a person from a country with little to no military know that?

It's funny when people like concrete and epine try to troll, it is way too obvious.

          • So because the healthcare system has substandard doctors and technicians, our whole military is incompetent? Our warfighters are top of the line, as any research would prove. In fact, the military has developed many of the common every day items we use today.

Clearly you were just trolling, as I would have to resort to if I were ever to be overmatched verbally by a liberal, but unfortunately for you I'm smarter than you and have much more knowledge that applies to the real, working world so you'll never get me to that point.

            • The Reno Gazette-Journal has a sit-down with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who addresses the Ted Kennedy question in, um, an interesting way.

Q: How will U.S. Sen. (Edward) Kennedy's death affect things?

A: I think it's going to help us. He hasn't been around for some time. We're going to have a new chairman of that committee, it'll be, I don't know for sure, but I think Sen. (Chris) Dodd, (D-Conn.). He has a right to take it. Either him or (U.S. Sen. Tom) Harkin, (D-Iowa), whichever one wants it can have it. I think he (Kennedy) will be a help. He's an inspiration for us. That was the issue of his life and he didn't get it done.

                • squeezer you seriously think that your going to get the same health insurance as kennedy rofl.

If youre on gov health care. No way are they going to help an every day person out like you or I with it comes to a big disease. More than likely we will get a time frame until we can see a doctor (maybe years) and if we are lucky some meds. My cousin has cancer and the british government wont even help her until it gets worst. She has fucking cancer i dont know what could be worst.

But hey im sure in fantasy land your health care system will be as good as the president gets. Because you deserve just as much amirite.

Yes I will have the opportunity to opt for the same coverage Kennedy received if I can pay for the premiums with my taxes. Read the fucking bill for God's sake. Furthermore, before I turned 18 I was on my mother's health care plan (she's a school district secretary) and that covered everything we ever needed, including surgeries to remove my mother's gall bladder, hysterectomy, as well as dental and other routine checkups/procedures. So I've seen a govt. plan work first hand. Take it for what it's worth, but it works for some people. They didn't tell my mother to go home and die and hysterectomies don't exactly run cheap.

I'm not the delusional one that believes reform will lead to death camps and other wild assertions. Why don't you say something with conviction rather than spouting this bullshit hyperbole?

edit: And what the fuck do you know about what I deserve? You probably still live a comfortable life at home with your parents until they pay for you to learn nothing at some stupid fucking state school where you can party for 4 years. Don't play that shit with me, I work for my living.

Sorry to hear about your cousin.

                    • My mom works as a supervisor in the health department. I had gov. insurance til i was 18.

The problem thou is having government insurance for everyone is going to cause 2 problems.

1- Too many people and not enough doctors (longer wait times to see a doctor)

2- Its rather expensive and since its free, people will go to the doctor for every single pain. Headaches, sore shoulder ect.

We cant afford a plan like the ones government workers get. It is too expensive =/

                      • 1. That's not a statement of fact. There are plenty of private medical officials that will gain a load of new patients if they know they're going to be paid for their services. Or it will mean that people entering medicine will have to rethink the idea of receiving a six figure income for being a medical professional. I personally don't believe someone should enter a social service position for the money and I especially don't want my doctor worried more about if he's going to get paid than my health. If you want to make money, start a business.

                        2. That's partly an assumption and partly a reality already. It will be cheaper to have the people that currently do that be insured than uninsured. They will be less of a burden on the hospitals and taxpayers that foot the bill in the long run anyway.

Yes. Read the bill. He will have an option (if the bill passes as it stands) to select the government health care plan which on paper is the same as that of a United States senator.

In practice would I get the same health care as ted kennedy? Hell no. However that is mostly because I am a nobody, he is a senator; and I am poor, and he is loaded. But on paper (barring he didn't have a private plan) we would have the same insurance.
