It amazes me how people like mattey and jerome could be so for the "equal opportunities" for people to have affordable health care, while at the same time supporting a person like Epi who is a doctor, and is one of the main problems in the health care as a whole.


Mattey, Jerome, the rest of you... you do realize that hospitals, pharmacies, and doctors are all for-profit for the most part, right? You realize that insurance companies are made because hospitals and doctors charge insane prices for basic health care, right?

God forbid anyone ever gets a transplant. Half a million down the drain without insurance.

The question remains, when did our society let people like epi charge those insane prices to do basic procedures? When did our society let drug companies charge insane prices for their pills that cost next to nothing to make? Does the government not already spend billions of dollars a year for their research?

Insurance companies are not the problem. The problem is at the source. People like mattey and jerome just seem to be just ignorant enough to overlook the obvious, I guess.

Keep on attacking izor for having to join the military for insurance, while patting Epi on the back for joining the list of doctors who overcharge beyond belief for simple checkups. That sure makes sense.


Also, the military has TERRIBLE doctors, and it never ceases to amaze me how many terrible doctors are actually practicing in the civilian world as well. Any retard can go to medical school if his parents has enough money to pay for it, and/or he is poor enough to where the government will pay for it. People don't become doctors to help people. They become doctors to make money. I wonder what would happen if all doctors could not make that much money anymore.... I bet you would see people like epi search for a new career field.

i keep wanting to say "well, exalt is correct about x and y"... but then i realize that he has no idea what he is talking about. for instance: doctors did in fact monopolize their field to drive prices up... but epinephrine a) was not one of those doctors, having entered the field well after prices were generally established and b) is a fucking canadian doctor. epi is completely wrong but you are completely wrong about why epi is completely wrong.

This is 100% false. Having a BS degree (dedication) is not nearly enough to get you into med school. Having money won't do it either, you genuinely have to be intelligent to pass the MCAT (in case you didn't know, med students have an entrance exam the same way pre-law students take the LSAT).

And in case you can't distinguish, there is a difference between being smart and being intelligent. Doctors are by necessity, intelligent. Whether or not they make smart, conscientious decisions becomes reliant on their personal ethics, not the size of their frontal lobe.
