Once, when I worked in produce at a grocery store, we were bored and decided to cut up some habanero peppers and put it in some salsa, then put the salsa out for samples. We made it pretty hot, but not oh-my-God-I'm-going-to-die hot... just hot enough that standing behind the door watching people eat it would cause some entertaining reactions.

Needless to say, I learned that habanero juice has the ability to pass through rubbers gloves. Or the fumes do. Or something. Because I went on break and touched my face and hoooooly shit.

Chances are when you were cutting them some juice or a seed squirted up to your face, and being a female that plays subspace something tells me juicing squirting into your face isn't something all together new to you.

some threads its just not worth it to try to troll so hard.

        youre trying too hard.

and on skin depending on the pepper you can usually bear it well enough. maybe skin types depend. but if you get some in your eyes it doesnt matter what type of hot pepper it is, it will hurt. yeah, after handling peppers try not to rub your eyes. touching your balls right after probably isnt wise either. just sayin.

cayenne is my favorite type of bear

Try growing and eating some fresh Bhut Jolokia (ghost peppers), rated at 850,000+ on the Scoville scale. (jalapeno are about 2500 on the Scoville, Habanero are around 100,000 to 350,000). Red Savina habaneros are also up there, they can push 500,000.

I have blistered my nasal passages by putting some of these peppers in blenders/food processors while making stuff. FYI, I've also wasted my nose doing the same with fresh horseradish, you don't need direct contact.

You guys will find that as you get older, this kind of hot stuff becomes more tasty.

Why would you assume that water would wash off the oils left from any hot pepper? If water doesn't work in taking the heat off your tongue after eating a hot pepper...then why would it work for your hands?

Next time use latex gloves when cutting them.

BTW...we use to have scotch bonnet tastings every year...speaking of "acceptable" heat, as I think that the Bhut Jolokia are too hot and I actually prefer a bit of flavor with my heat If you want to get the heat off your tongue, have syrup (aunt jemima or whatever...even Molasses) take a swig and spit it out. The syrup attracts the oils from the pepper out of your mouth and it's gone in a flash.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

Yeah, I think Serranos are probably the tastiest of all peppers, great level of heat and sweet.

Habernero is probably my second favorite, I love adding them to sauces I make.

And btw I am not trolling, I have been eating spicy foods my entire life and honestly when I was 5-6 it was probably hot I guess but now I can cut pretty much any pepper and eat pretty much any pepper without having any problems whatsoever.

              Btw.

Win. That totally destroys that ghost pepper shit. But in all honestly the shit is really hot.

I'm a pussy when it comes to hot stuff, but i love it. The way you feel when eating something hot makes you feel so good.

Ok I've found the "cure" and tried it to make sure it was legit. Not sure if it works with other peppers, but definitely jalapenos.

So you dip your hand in a solution of half bleach and half water, then wash your hands. Found this on the internet and the solution apparently makes the pepper oil soluble in water. Works! I handled the rest of the peppers last night for dinner and tried this and I don't taste any spiciness on my fingers!

BTW, this is the same with other plant oils, such as poison ivy. A lot of people pick up poison ivy from their dogs, since the oils get on their coats and then the person pets the dog.
