The oil spill is a tragedy. It's not Obama's fault... it's BP's fault for not having a timely solution. If the gulfstream is right(or wrong!) we could have this problem as far up as eastern Canada. We have offshore drilling here too and the thought of what could happen is truly scary. I think Obama is just trying to give the fisherman hope that things will get back to normal.... whether that's right or not, to instill seemingly false hope........ I just don't know but I hope it's not the taxpayers paying for this. The Sierra Club has a lot of volunteers already on the beaches cleaning off wildlife... have you seen those poor pelicans? They didn't deserve this... nobody did.... -_-

False hope is a crime in itself. The fisherman and resorts area owners are not stupid and should not be talked down to as if they are underage children waiting for Santa.

Of course the taxpayers are going to end up footing a percentage of the bill. Through federal aid and cleanup that has already been promised, this will be something we can't avoid.

The many volunteers lined up to help are not being allowed to help in many of the hit areas...why? This in itself is amazing. However, many of the people that are helping are coming down with skin irritations and breathing disorders from this oil. The animal life is doomed it would seem, as spawning areas are devistated for certain fish as well as egg reproducing mamals will most likely suffer for generations if not completely wiped out with birth defects and new diseases.

It's a crime! Just look at the wildlife that never bounced back in Alaska.

Also it wasn't Obama's fault that he took 50 days or so of playing golf and having private concerts instead of dealing with the oil spill but it was George Bush's fault that he took three days to fly over the hurricane ravaged part of the nation.

The problem here is that Obama hasn't done shit, instead of accepting the help offered by numerous countries, companies, and individuals offering their time, expertise, and help in cleaning up this mess, he instead decided to make use of this time to push forward retarded agendas such as cap and trade instead of actually doing something to help. Instead of talking to James Cameron to try to find out ways to solve the spill with beautiful CGI animation maybe he should have issued a presidential order to over ride the 1920's Jones Act that says that no ship may work in American waters that wasn't built in America, that way we could have accepted the ships from the Netherlands three days into the spill that could have picked up to 20 tons of oil a day, or used the method that the Saudi's use that uses supertankers to pick up water and oil combined and then cycle out the oil, and release the water back into the ocean.

Now honestly, I don't care how liberal you are you have to admit that Obama has done absolutely nothing here to help out except for paying lip service to the retards that are brainwashed by him, and politicize the event for his party affiliation.
