i don't understand why it seems like so few americans have any american pride anymore. i have several friends who constantly talk shit about america and talk about how awesome europe is and i think they're fucking idiots, not because they think europe is awesome, but because they talk more highly about other countries than the one they were born in and will live their whole life in. just doesn't make sense to me.

I think it's quite common everywhere in the world to talk shit about your own country every now and then, and things being better elsewhere - us wealthy countries included. I do it on a daily basis :]
