Adding to your reasons of being pro-choice that, were it made illegal, women would go to "underground" abortion clinics and have it done in an unsafe manner is one that you should probably remove. I get what you're saying and realize that nothing hinges on that one aspect of your reasoning, but it is one that has always driven me crazy to hear irl, as it is a very bad point to have back up your view.

Why is this a bad point? Please explain.

As a simple example, before Roe vs. Wade in the USA, thousands of women died every year in underground illegal abortions.

If abortions were banned again, this would happen once again. While modern medicine has created many more ways to safely do abortions, if it was illegal, then people would have to seek out someone willing to break the law. There would be a good chance that more than one of these underground clinics would be doing it in unsafe or unsanitary ways, thus endangering the lives of women in a way that legal clinics never would.

Explain why this is a bad thing to bring up?

For me there is no controversy. A fetus is 100% dependent on it's mother for absolutely everything. A baby is not. A fetus turns into a baby when it comes out of the mother. Once it's out, it either dies (because it's too early), or it lives (because outside forces keep it alive). Anyone can take care of a viable baby once it leaves the mother. Absolutely no one can take care of the fetus except for the mother.

I think you should re-examine this, go deeper, or something.

If abortion equal to murder your unborn fetus, we need to consider the following:

Are we eating eggs or are we killing unborn chickens?

Vegetarians who don't want to kill animals should stop eating plants and seeds because of all those 'unheard voices': that plants want to live too, and those damn seeds are just 'unborn plants'. It is okay to drink milk though, but no honey - not cool to steal from the bees.

I think that's a fair observation. Also that I do not want to outright "ban" it for any reason, even in circumstances of irresponsibility.

In general, I would say I'm moderately conservative.

To a liberal, it's fair to think of me as pretty damn conservative.

Before I start, I should reiterate again for the millionth time that I believe abortions should be available in extreme circumstances such as rape, and health issues. But these extreme examples make up for a very small percentage of abortions in the U.S. This is not a new belief for most moderate conservatives. For women's rights: I believe in them. I think you're still arguing from the standpoint that I'm very conservative when it comes to abortion, when the reality is that most conservatives are not. In my experience, most pro-choicers are similarly not very liberal, and find fault in late-term pregnancies when a fetus is more fully formed.
