it's not specific enough... something that can kill and not die but can fly with no wings can be anything! It can be a big rock i throw and hit someone on the head. it can even be a bullet from a gun...... right? well what is it, then?

sorry for not being specific enough, then. it appears only T00L realized that it's all one riddle.
The place where I'm born is very hot.
Some say I'm black, yet others say not.
From far away I'm easy to spot.
I can kill, but cannot die.
I have no wings, yet still can fly.
Do you know? What am I?

My first is in even, but not in odd.
My second is in scepter, but not in rod.
My third is in long, but not in short.
My fourth is in hunt, but not in sport.
My last is in waist, but not in girth.
My whole is a close neighbor of the earth.

The letters in the words:
First in "even", but not in "odd". That means you can choose from E,V or N.
Do that for all lines:
1) E, V, N
2) S, C, E, P, T
3) L, N, G
4) H, U, N
5) W, A, S
Then you just go down the line and see what jives with the last hint. Venus.Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

I'M STILL confused. why would you only use E, V, N? What does "odd" have to do with it? What's the "first" and "second" have to do with this?Last edited by MaGi kOz; 12-05-2003, 12:57 AM.
